Considering picking this up for my players once they reach 14-15th level. Is the way this bundle/these books are made to be sequential and each story has enough XP to level up once? Also considering the other dungeon series and wondering the same thing. level 1 starts with dungeons on demand vol 1, and then level 2 is in vol 2, 3 in 3....so on and so forth, until back to vol 1 for level 4, vol 2 for 5.

Hi Matthew!

The adventures in this bundle are all created as independent "drop in" scenarios, so there's no direct element or story tying them all together. However, plenty of GMs have found creative ways to do so, though it will require a little bit of work on your part to become familiar with the plot to each and make the necessary changes you see fit.

This bundle is pulled from the Dungeons on Demand volumes and stretch goal adventures - if you already own those, no need to purchase this set. The volumes were made independently of each other for Kickstarter, with "stretch goal" adventures being a bonus based on funding. Each volume features adventures at staggered levels for the same reason - they're meant to be dropped into storylines for GMs in need, and the different levels worth of content is purely for range of use.

Just to reiterate, if you purchase all the volumes, you won't need this bundle, and if you purchase all the bundles, you won't need...See more

Thanks for the reply! I think I can find ways to have them tie into each other. But still one clarification that I need.

If I have my players do the "Best served cold" campaign for level 14 characters, will that campaign give enough XP or rather has enough XP to level up the characters to 15, and then run the "Out for Blood" campaign for level 15 characters, and so on for the others?

Once again, thanks for the reply!

Of course, it's my pleasure.

Each one of the adventures has enough content to advance a party of appropriately leveled characters to the next level. This is done by defeating monsters and receiving ad hoc XP for overcoming traps, solving puzzles, placating NPCs, accomplishing major story goals, etc. Keep in mind, I build each for a party of 4 to 5 players, so a party of 5 might need to scrap through all the optional bits to get all the XP needed to advanced to the next level. Parties or 4 or fewer might receive enough to advance well into the next level. You can always change up the encounters and ad hoc rewards to accommodate your party, of course, but by the book the XP should work out so each player is leveling up if he or she survives.

Thanks Dan, that answers my question! Will definitely be looking at getting these once my characters finish the next mod. They are finishing Phandalin now, then Storm King's Thunder next. Should get to 14 by that point. Have them build a Stronghold at some point as a base of operations and will have to travel the to locales. They are all very interested in the different orders so I can easily find ways to tie in their orders and offer renown to level up as well.

These are set in the Forgotten Realms as well correct?

They're actually setting neutral (one of the rules for the licensing to publish through DriveThruRPG). It's easy enough to change the locales though--The White Reach can just be a spot in Icewind Dale, Castle Halethorpe can be on the High Moor, etc. I'm purposefully pretty vague about where things are geographically so they can fit in the Realms or anyone's homebrew campaign world.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
