Tiny Frontiers: Mecha and Monsters is the first expansion to the science fiction role-playing game, Tiny Frontiers. Utilizing the minimalist, swift and flexible ruleset of Tiny Frontiers, you take on the role of jockeys who pilot massive robots, defending the world and cities of man from threats, giant aliens or monsters and much more!

Alternative, utilize the Kaiju rules to play giant monsters, telling stories as massive forces of nature, bent on destruction!

This book contains numerous "micro-settings", small, evocative settings designed by industry veterans, fiction authors, and top level talent! Micro-settings allow you to get right into the thick of the gaming with minimal prep, and loads of fun! You can play without Tiny Frontiers, but adding Tiny Frontiers to your game dramatically expands your options and the stories you tell!

What are you waiting for?

Get Stompy!

Does this book contain the TINY FRONTIERS rules from the other book also? or is it totally different & separate? I want to run a Star Frontiers/Traveller type game and a separate Mecha Robot game- so id need both books? Thanks.

The Tiny D6 rules are present in both the books. The Jockeys (Mecha pilots) have a much simpler character creation compared to Tiny Frontiers. The remainder are rules for creating Mecha and Kaiju. If you're running a pure Mecha game, you just require this game. For a Star Frontier game, you will require Tiny Frontiers. You can also create characters using Tiny Frontiers and have them pilot the Mechas as well if needed.

This purchase has two same versions, is this on purpose? One called "digital" and the second "printer friendly" thanks!

They are the same. The printer friendly version makes it easier on the printer without the additional background graphics.

Not yet a buyer of this (just recently got Tiny Dungeon 2E) but after watching Godzilla 2, this book went up the ranks of "must buy". Loving the simplicity of the system from what I've read and reviews mention it has a ton of customisability.

Hi! That's currently an issue due to DTRPG's migration to the cloud. As soon as it's fixed, the previews should be up.

Hi, just a quick question. I’ve been considering doing a fantasy mecha game, similar to something like the anime “Knights & Magic”, or “Escaflowne” for a more classic example. Can I combine Mecha & Monsters with Tiny Dungeon, putting fantasy fighters and wizards and such into the mecha? Or are the two games not meant to click together like that?

They do! There's likely a little hand-waving in a few pieces, but it'd absolutely work. We played it during playtesting like that!

How does this interact with the Tiny Frontiers: Revised release? Are these rules included there?

Hey Jeff!

It's still fully stand-alone, but you can leverage Tiny Frontiers: Revised for stories that take place outside of the Mecha.

does this include the Savage Worlds version as well? Was that ever made or did I imagine it?

Hey Charles!

This is the TinyD6 version of the game. The Savage Worlds version has not come out yet, as we're waiting to see Savage Worlds "Black".

I think it needs to be said, if anyone else is wondering like I did, that this is a complete standalone game despite being advertised as the an expansion of Tiny Frontiers.

So again you do not need original Tiny Frontiers to use Tiny Frontiers: Mecha and Monsters.

Hello, I was going through the Mecha and Monster creation rules. The Mecha Scout and Knight Classes are identical respectively to the Monster Bakemono and Oni Bioforms, but Scout/Mokin and Titan/Daikaiju are different. Scout has an extra Movement than Mokin. Titan has an extra Weapon than Daikaiju.

Is this by design or a copy and paste error?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
