  • The sky literally falling, right in front of the adventurers
  • Goblins who’ve built a most unusual “fortress” in a roadside ditch
  • A mysterious stone terrace rising up out of the snow, with an ancient machine glinting from the topmost level.
  • ..and much more, lavishly illustrated with maps by Meshon Cantrill!

With Prepared!, designer Jon Sawatsky has created dozens of 5th Edition fantasy scenarios ready to use in any fantasy campaign setting, at a variety of PC levels. Never be caught without a plot again!

These adventures feature monsters from the core 5th Edition MM and from the Tome of Beasts.

Useful, but this pdf needs re-optimising. Takes about 40 seconds to load each page for me.
I’m using Acrobat on an iPad Pro, all latest updates.

Love Kobold press's content! Picked up ToB and Eldritch Lairs for Roll20, wondering if this or volume two will ever be on that format

Very interesting love the format, I kind of dislike a lot of the newer 5e stuff because their heavily leaning on SANDBOX gameplay. There nothing more work intensive than a SANDBOX. I work to much to dedicate that level of time into something. I prefer structured modules to which I can ADD to if I want to get creative. I see a lot of people buying a lot of the newer modules unable to use them because they just don't even possess the ability to run a lot of those modules. Which is why I appreciate Kobold Press's use of just the simple format of DND, each room has descriptors, everything's set up and ready to go with a possibility of using it for further adventures.

The one thing I caught though as I'm just now reading through it is some formatting errors. The sections have nice BOLD text for NPCs or Monsters used in the section. I notice one section says a gibbering mouther appears through a portal (no bold also notice the lower case spelling). Thankfully I've played quite a bit and realized...See more

Crashes my Adobe Acrobat more or less every time (both files) as of 18/11/16, if you wait it out it comes back though. Strange, just bought a bunch of Heroic Maps (PDF files 200-300 MB each) which open in Adobe in 0.02 seconds flat...

Content, as always, very good though- well worth the money.

Huh, we're not seeing that issue with the new file. Not sure what to tell you, but we'll pass this along to the art director.

Actually, it looks like your best bet is going to be DriveThru's tech team. Give them a shout.

This file has invariably crashed adobe acrobat on my $1000+ gaming PC. I can't actually read this document. I also just noticed it's 26 pages long, and those together with the fact that this book requires the Tome of Beasts (which I have, but not everyone does) is kind of a dealbreaker. This product could use a second look from the publisher.

Thanks for your note! A new and much tighter file has been uploaded, optimized for onscreen display.

I also have this issue when opening with Adobe Reader (the latest optimized for onscreen display version doesn't crash if you wait)!
But I found opening it in other applications such as Microsoft Edge doesn't crash, that said it is slow to load the pages.

There are some cool things in this book. However, I am quite irritated that it REQUIRES the purchase of "Tome of Beasts." For the price, the creatures not described in the official monster manual should be included in the product. So, in order to use some of the scenarios, I need to spend an extra $30 to get the stats.

While I do agree with you that the monsters should be include I believe you will find the "Tomb of Beasts" is well worth purchasing. I purchased both the PDF and hard cover book it is very well done, and is 3 times as thick as the Monster Manual.

I think your crazy, the price is 6.99 the average PDF with full info is far higher.

A 1-star review on that basis alone is unfair, especially when the publisher states very clearly that the product contains monsters found in the Tome of Beasts. If I were looking to purchase this product, I would disregard this review as unreasonable.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
