I know it says a Premium Color Book but is the book actually in color or is it black and white with better paper (which I understand you get when you order a premium color book)?

The video was at times helpful, but mostly too rambling. And this talk of willies seemed like... what? I will purchase this book based on the strength of your handful of dice dungeon system, and the mountains chart on pages 20-21.

I am a worldbuilder, author and 5th Edition DM, creating my world on World Anvil. Thanks for writing this book, Up to this point, I have used Rich Baker's Worldbuilder's Guide for 2nd Ed AD&D.

Sorry for the delay! We're working on print versions of all our books as we speak! They'll be available on our website (should be this month!).

The process of turning digital versions of our books into print has been an arduous one, but we predict we'll have this book up in print by the end of August. I know I told you "this month" back in May, but man, it's been a difficult journey!

However, we're on track and all the obstacles are behind us. :-)

I know y'all are working hard over there, just wondering if there's been any progress in the past few months on the POD books. Are you guys trying to get everything going all at once, or are you going to go one at a time? Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, and I missed it. Thanks for your time.

For the record: I did purchase this supplement, but that doesn't show up here because I got it from

It's been a long time coming, but we've just now released the print version of the book!

Is there a discount on pod for those of us who already purchased the pdf?
Customer avatar
Michael B March 17, 2017 5:29 pm UTC
If you already purchased the PDF, you should first re-download it to get the additional Nations, Factions, and Empires content we added to the book! However, the PDF comes free with any purchase of the physical book, so there would be no visible discount – just the base price of the physical book.

If this was supposed to be an informative demo and sales pitch, you failed badly. Most customers aren't interested in "willies" in the map, or the endless off point chatter. I gave up after forcing myself through the first ten minutes then moved the slider to see the finished product.

What you did might be perfectly fine as a webcast, but as a pitch to prospective customers it was terrible - which is a shame because it might actually be a very good product.

Your loss...

No hard feelings at all, JJ. We hoped to inform the viewers of what could be expected in the product, while simultaneously being true to ourselves and having fun with what we created. We hope you'll give the book a chance in the future, but we understand if that's not the case.

Either way, thank you very much for the feedback.

The second half of the dungeon table is a repeat of the cavern table.

Thanks so much! We're going to resolve this issue this evening, at which point we will update the download file. Thanks, and be sure to check back tomorrow for the updated version!

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
