Some folks travel the stars in a rust-bucket Free Trader scraping together cash and equipment from just about any source they can. Others do it with a bit more style and flair. This ship is for the later.

Presenting a starship for the true merchant prince, diplomat, megacorporate executive and of course nobles of all stripes. Also suitable for large Traveller crews and those who wish to be surrounded by the finer things in life. Jump-3, Maneuver-3, Power Plant-4, this 800-ton Type-Y2 Expeditionary Yacht has long legs and lots of room.

Come let us show you one up close...

This is a Licensed Traveller5 Adventure Class Starship useable for use in the OTU or in your own TU.

Enjoy and safe travels!

What are the differences (types of ink? paper vs. glossy/matte?) between the Standard and Premium softback and hardback printings (color) of this Traveller5 supplement?

Well, for one the hardcover can be popped into a backpack for transport and still looks good. :)

Honestly, there's a hardcover version because I wanted one. But in seriousness the paper is thicker and yes glossy with the Premium, Standard is matte. The softcover isn't too bad either. But I would box it or put it between my hardcovers, but they do look good with the Premium paper.

On the whole it depends on if you want something like the old CT SoM or a book that works well on a shelf and transport.

Hopefully that helps. Basically the Premium is a higher quality all around but Standard does the job if you're looking for good enough.

Either way, if you do purchase one, please feel free to come back and leave your impressions, good or bad. Any feedback is batter than none.

And thank you for considering our fine starship.

Laterness,
Craig.

I have ordered a Hard Copy, in Color, Premium level, and look forward to receiving it with great interest. The concept is interesting, the cover brilliant, and seems a worthwhile addition to the small but growing body of Traveller5 secondary books. After I get and read it, I will be sure to give a review of the book in some detail.

Sweet! Glad to see this. Stephanie does great work, she's why that cover pops so beautifully.

I hope it meets with your expectations and it serves you well.

And of course, thank you for Patronage.

Are rules and stats for traveller5 only?

Yes, the mechanics are only T5.

Though depending on your preferred system they may be portable. Deckplans and color text are for the most part system neutral so, if you want them for that no problems, if you want the ship in a different system porting it would the only option currently.

I hope this both answers your question and helps your decsion.

Feel free to post other questions or comments.

Thank you for your interest.

Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately (for me) I use a different Traveller version.

On the other hand, as you said, deck plans and text is quite platform neutral, and the preview got me interested. It's the little details, such as a text blurb about how the barbette gunners like to decorate their 'office', that gets me.

And besides, attempting to port it myself might be good training :)

No problems. Enjoy having feedback.

As to porting, at this point one License is enough. :)

And man, I am glad two people had the decency and honesty to tell me the first preview blew chunks. Glad to know I picked a good one the second time around.

No matter what, I hope you do purchase and enjoy one, but if not I at least got some good feedback.

So, thank you again and who knows if I get big enough eventually I may get it to Mongoose or something.

So, in closing thank you again, and good luck on the port.

Laterness,
Craig.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
