Into the Odd

Selected Option:
Softcover, B&W Book
PDF + Softcover, B&W Book

Into the Odd contains everything you need to create a character and explore an industrial world of cosmic meddlers and horrific hazards. This is a fast, simple game, to challenge your wits rather than your understanding of complex rules.

You seek Arcana, strange devices hosting unnatural powers beyond technology. They range from the smallest ring to vast machines, with powers from petty to godlike. Beside these unnatural items that they may acquire, your characters remain grounded as mortals in constant danger.

The game is 48 pages, containing:

Original artwork from Jeremy Duncan, Levi Kornelsen, and others.

The fastest character creation out there, getting you playing as soon as possible.

Player rules that fit on a single page, keeping a focus on exploration, problem solving, and fast, deadly combat.

The complete guide to running the game as Referee. From making the most of the rules to creating your own monsters and Arcana.
Sample monsters, arcanum, traps, and hazards.

Character advancement from Novice to Master
Rules for running your own Company, and taking it to war with an original mass combat system.

Complete guide to the Odd World, from the cosmopolitan city of Bastion and its hidden Underground, through to backwards Deep Country, the unexplored Golden Lands.

The Iron Coral, sample expedition site to test the players’ survival skills.

The Fallen Marsh, a deadly wilderness to explore.

Hopesend Port, a settlement to regroup and sail on to further adventure.

Thirteen bonus pages of tools and random tables from the Oddpendium.

Heyo. Any chance of getting a download link here too? I purchases this one over at Lost Pages already, but it's nice to have access to all my PDFs on one site. Thanks.

Same question. I have an email from Lost Pages dating back to 2015, was there ever an update to this file? It would be great to be able to re-download from here too. Thanks.

I kind of wanted to just ask this question to the creator, but I couldn't find his e-mail address anywhere, so I guess I'll just post it here.
Anyway, I discovered there is a French version of this game, and it seems much more expansive then the English version and I was wondering why this is.
Just take a look at it:
There's different books and a GM screen and everything.

I followed that link and had a look and yes, this is certainly....well, "odd". Was this entire thing originally done in French?

If you're asking if Into the Odd was originally in French then I think the answer is no.
I think the people behind this took the original product and expanded upon it by adding lore and stuff.

Into the Odd is an English game. The French version took the Into the Odd engine and expanded it considerably beyond the original limits; they really used it as the engine behind a different setting and concept.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
