JUGGERNAUT  is card-based live-action roleplaying game about free will for 4-6 players from the creators of FIASCO and CAROLINA DEATH CRAWL

It is July third, 1950. The Korean War is eight days old. National Security Council Report 68 is sitting on Harry Truman’s desk, a grim outline of the Cold War that is to enfold the world for the next 40 years. Alan Turing’s paper “Computing Machinery and Intelligence” is circulating for review. Cinderella is a box office sensation. And you have invented a computer that can see the future.

Employing cutting-edge Ward-Takahashi identity derivations outside their quantum-theoretical framework, JUGGERNAUT processes enormous data sets, ostensibly in the service of code-breaking once the technology is proven and refined. The unstable geniuses behind the math have reached some curious conclusions that only experimental evidence can confirm. By the numbers, JUGGERNAUT - given enough resources - should be able to crack ciphers before they are even invented.

The game IS designed FOR 3-6 players AND a SESSION will typically LAST two hours, depending ON your style of play.

The 6-page rules PDF IS available BY clicking "Publisher Preview" above AND provides detailed directions FOR how TO play the game. Rules are also included IN the cards themselves.

The game includes a FULL-color deck of 72 standard-sized cards printed ON premium card stock, DOUBLE-sided, WITH rounded-corners AND a low-gloss UV Coating. Here's what's included:

22 Job Summary Cards - simulated punch cards representing the Juggernaut machine's cryptic predictions of the future.

36 Additional Job Summary Cards - REPLACE the standard SET of Job Summary cards WITH these FOR EXTENDED replay value.

6 CHARACTER Cards - EACH of these cards IS a QUICK summary of ONE of the characters you'll play, including what he OR she thinks of the others IN the room.

6 Rules Cards - a QUICK SET of rules TO guide your play AND make sure everyone has fun.

Please note that the deck currently comes without a box, banded IN a plastic sleeve FOR delivery. DrivethruCards offers a clear plastic deck box AS an additional OPTION FOR $0.99, so be sure TO ADD that TO your order OR plan TO pick ONE up AT your friendly LOCAL game store.

IN addition TO the cards AND rules, you'll have access TO printable CHARACTER sheets (IN CASE you prefer larger handouts THAN the cards), a sheet of nametags suitable FOR printing ON Avery 5263 Labels, AND, most importantly, the soundtrack MP3- a short track TO be played ON a portable device EACH TIME someone draws a card, simulating the SOUNDS of the machine AT work.

Purchase of the print cards includes the Print-AND-Play PDF AT NO extra charge, so you can get started RIGHT away WHILE you WAIT FOR shipment TO arrive!

When printing the cards, we recommend the following method for best results:

  1. print the front and back sheets individually in color on quality card stock
  2. line them up in some strong light and staple the sheets together along one edge
  3. spray the back side of each sheet with adhesive and stick them together carefully
  4. Trim them into individual cards

I played this game using a couple of Rock Band drum kits and boxes as Juggernaut, with a tray holding the deck of cards. It was an incredibly tense game and a nicely simple one to prepare for. If you want some Twilight Zone style fun and an introductio [...]

This was a huge hit with my group. The dark, paranoid theme is push just right with the card driven "events" from Juggernaut. Can't wait to play again. [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
