As others have been saying, this system is quite fun to play, BUT this pdf is quite inconvenient. You receive everything--character creation, character sheets, professions, sample adventure, DM information, etc--in one massive, 180+ page pdf. That's a lot of pages!! It's a beast to try to scroll through during gameplay to get to the relevant section, especially because the sample adventure is somewhere near the end, meaning if you have to check a rule, you have to scroll veeeeery tediously back and forth. Worse yet, the character sheet and character creation rules are jammed in there with everything else. So if you want to just pass someone the character creation rules so they can start building a character, but NOT the sample adventure so they don't accidentally spoil themselves...well, you can't. It's all part of this beast of a pdf. And you can forget using Acrobat to split this beast into pieces--because the file is, of course, locked down against that. I can't even print it to solve this issue, because...See more

I do not know. You can however find one fairly easily - a fillable PDF, as a matter of fact.

Baker Street is a very interesting setting, but too expensive for such a bad scanning job. Some pages are OK, others just awful (they appear even blurred). A pity, for a different game like this one… I was interested in the other modules as well.

so i have just purchased this product. not even read it yet and i am not impressed. it looks like someone has done a really bad photo copy job. there are book marks but its pahe by page and does not actually mention any of the chapters. like its still readable but pages do look a little off. like someone did it over their coffee break or something.

I was given the privilege to review Baker Street for Knights of the Dinner Table and was able to publish that review in full on my blog (if you happen to be on the fence) here:

I finally had the opportunity to run this as a one shot for our fill-in game (a night when not every member of the gaming group shows up) and we had a good time. Though admittedly our group consisted of two former (retired) law enforcement and a series of horrendous choices led to the group not solving the case... The investigative mechanics functioned really well and were really good at ratcheting up the tension... As potential clues are revealed this game becomes about hard choices, as the tension increases... And I also created my own scenario for it (which I probably over-stepped it a bit). As said, we had a lot of fun with it.

Great system, all the investigators had a lot of fun playing through this. I was hoping it would also be fun for me being the Mastermind (GM). I'm happy to report that it was! Watching people fumble through the varied and well thought out scenes, finding clues, asking questions, visiting locations. Multiple endings make the game feel well thought out and appropriate to how well investigators do in their investigation. Can't wait to play some more! (I can't post a review so added it here instead).

The system is brilliant! The mechanic with the Sherlock die is a nice change to other game systems out there! If you are a fan of Sherlock Holmes, you will definitely enjoy this RPG. Victorian Era London and its society are wonderfully rendered as players move through each case discovering clues, chasing down leads, and solving the case all while the threat of danger lurks ever nearer as you progress through the adventure. This is a MUST have for RPG fans everywhere.

Is there any plan to offer this in print, or at least DTRPG POD?

Daniel - We have some physical copies available. Email Eventually they will be POD but I don't know how long that will take. You can also get the Sherlock Die from Kirby.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
