This release is part of the Saturday Morning Spycraft series, which explores your favorite 80s cartoon properties using the Spycraft 2.0 system. In this release you can...

Soar against the moon and stalk among the shadows of the night! The Stone Sentinels are gargoyles, a species that has potentially been with the earth since the dawn of time, or may be freakish and unexpected branches of wild evolution. They might become invaders, a dominant species, a “monster” to be hunted and killed, or part of a diverse network of species in your world. So many possibilities open up for your Spycraft 2.0 game when you introduce these remarkable creatures...

  • Play as a gargoyle or a human inducted or indoctrinated into their ranks (or perhaps as a human hunting them down)
  • Rise to power as a Legendary Gargoyle exhibiting the ultimate power of your race
  • Embrace cunning PsyOps and strike terror into your foes
  • Beat the odds with Uncertainty feats and customize your gargoyle with oh so many Species feats
  • Tailor your campaign to your specific play style, and even incorporate the stone sentinels and their allies and enemies into your existing Spycraft campaign

This special release features cover art from Karine Charlebois, who contributed to the official Gargoyles comic series from Slave Labor Publishing.

Stone Sentinels is one of the last two releases for Spycraft 2.0 (along with Spookbusters). The twilight is setting on this long-running and highly acclaimed game line, but not on Spycraft. Keep an eye out for Spycraft Third Edition, coming soon from Crafty Games.

If you want to add an unusual race to your game, this supplement looks at 'gargoyles'. Now, a gargoyle is an ornamental water-spout commonly found on mediaeval buildings such as cathedrals, so I think they are really talking about 'grotesques', the sto [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
