Local villagers whisper of a mysterious place deep in the marsh - a place shrouded in mist and dotted with barrow mounds, ruined columns, and standing stones. The tomb-robbers who explore beneath the mounds - or rather the few who return - tell tales of labyrinthine passages, magnificent grave goods, and terrifying creatures waiting in the dark. Are you brave (or foolish) enough to enter the Barrowmaze?

Barrowmaze Complete (BMC) is a classic old school megadungeon for use with Labyrinth LordTM and other fantasy role-playing games. BMC includes everything in Barrowmaze I and II in the same book in addition to new material, art, layout, and cover art by Ex-TSR artist Erol Otus.

Barrowmaze Complete will keep your players on their toes and your campaign going strong.

BMC is brought to you by the Old School Renaissance (so don’t forget your 10’ pole).

This edition includes art by the aforementioned TSR artists Erol Otus, as well as Tim Truman, Jim Holloway. New old-school artists include Peter Pagano, Cory Hamel, Stefan Poag, Zhu Bajie, Stephan Thompson, and others.

Really looking forward to running this as a drop-in game at a local game store. But I'm curious - does anyone have stats for the Boglings?

In theory you could, but you would need the spells, the magic items and the monsters from the Labyrinth Lord pdf (free). At this point, you might as well run Labyrinth Lord.

An earnest question...

I just bought this product and so far love it. I have one issue...the maps seem off to me. The dungeon map, the barrow map, and the text in the book itself all seem in concordance. The overland map of Aerik doesn't seem to agree, however. According to the overland map, Helix sits NE of the Barrowmaze. The starting exploratory point for the barrows is in the SW portion of the hex map. In order for the PCs to enter the hex map from that point they would have to travel (3 full hexes) around the north and west sides of the barrow mounds hex in order to enter from the SW. Given the travel times detailed in the book, traveling that far through the surrounding marshes should take closer to 12 hours rather than the 4 hours listed (1 hex takes 4 miles/10 hours). Am I misunderstanding this wildly?

My guess is that I'm being overly literal and that what is expected of GMs to infer is that that the PCs do only travel 1 hex (to the S/SW) but due to the way the marshes dictate...See more

Hi, I previously purchased the product Barrowmaze (I (one) apparently). My DrivethruRPG library has the file

Can the creator tell me how that file differs from Barrowmaze Complete?

i have a weird question, if I buy the PDF can I legally have it printed and bound at a place like Staples? For a module this size, having it spiral bound is so it will lie flat is the only way to go.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
