Fluxborn is a role-playing game of boundless fantasy and imagination.

As we sleep, our minds wander into a world of surrealism and illusion. A world that is often much like ours, but at the same time distant from the rules of nature and those of man. It is a place of amazement and wonder, of ecstatic adventures and terrible horrors. And in this fantastic world of unlimited possibilities the players take on roles of the enigmatic Fluxborn, exceptional individuals with the power to shape the world around them to their liking.

The game was created as a passion project during a relatively short period of time, over lengthy discussions inside and between a few rooms of variable dimness - by a few people with too many ideas and little common sense. However, we had a clear vision of what we wanted to do, and the finished product is something that we have absolutely fallen in love with. Inspiration has been drawn from countless sources and we'd like to think there's more than a few truly original ideas in the mix as well, all stirred inside a big brain-shaped pot into a wonderful soup of dream logic, nostalgia and the very essence of the phrase; "you know what would be cool?"

The book includes:

  • Streamlined rules to simulate visceral combat, engaging drama and reality-defying Stunts - an original rule system using six-sided dice

  • Mechanics for creating and customising weapons, armour and other items

  • Rich lore and background focusing on the dreamer continent of Everthere

  • A bestiary of strange creatures and colourful inhabitants of the dreaming world

  • Amazing full colour artwork to bring the World of Dreams alive

  • A printer-friendly version of the Rulebook, Character Sheet and Appendix 1 is also included in the download

Perhaps there was a glitch when I downloaded the book. My copy had almost every e missing in the words there and there. I took to this to be a case of poor editing because I downloaded the book twice just to make sure.

I figured English was the author's second or third language because of the diction. On page 10 where the authors say hares "crave for traveling" is one example of awkward phrasing, even in UK English. There are other examples.

The game itself looks like a retread of Changeling the Dreaming. It's hard to feel impressed.

It sure does sound like a glitch then!

Anyways, some phrasing might be a bit awkward, but I hope the book to be understandable nonetheless.

Changeling the Dreaming is something I haven't personally touched, but many different RPG's, movies and comics have influenced the creation of Fluxborn. Shame it didn't really hit home with you, but I do hope (on behalf of Cycpops!) you'll still try it out with a game group and see how it plays out!

Also, feel free to send us feedback to!

The proof reading on this product is poor in the extreme. Five pages into the book, I have counted more than 20 blatant spelling errors. A simple spell check would catch many of them.

I'm rather confused about this. The book has been proofread a number of times, and there's certainly been more than one simple spell check. I just went ahead and ran a check on the first five pages of the book that you mentioned, and it didn't yield a single error, so I really struggle to see where we might've gone wrong. We did use UK English throughout the book, so that might be the source of some confusion.

Nevertheless, I hope you can still enjoy the book! Our editor would love an example of one of these errors, since I'd like to think we did go through the book with a fine-toothed comb several times. Granted, english is a second language for all of us, but this is the first piece of criticism we've had when it comes to the accuracy of the writing, so we're curious.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
