Pandora London

Watermarked PDF

The story of Pandora is one of the most famous and well known of the Greek myths, a tale told to children to encourage them to behave. It is also a lie. One of the most carefully crafted pieces of fiction ever produced in order to hide a greater truth.

Become a participant in a supernatural war that rages in secret throughout the city of London. Battle forces both magical and spiritual as you and those like you uphold the peace and hold back the night.

PANDORA uses the CASCADE ROLEPLAYING SYSTEM, a streamlined version of the role playing system first seem in the GOLDEN AGE RPG (which is also free to download). Carefully designed to allow for quick and easy character creation and simple to remember in-game systems without losing the depth and freedom of choice that make role playing games so fantastic.

Is there a way the file size could be reduced? 116 MB for a 43-page document is *really big* for a PDF. I know it may not seem like a big thing, but when you have literally hundreds of PDF files, it adds up.

So far this looks very promising! I do have a question though.....

The system as is (unless I missed something) reads that you always succeed if a 10 shows up, and always fail on any 1? So what happens if I roll a 1 and a 10 in the same test? Also, doesn't this mean that that as i get more skillful (bigger die pool), I also get more likely to fail (roll a 1)?

A very well worded question - rolling a 1 is an automatic fail, however this doesn't mean that your chances of succeeding a roll increase as your pool enlarges (mathematically it makes it smaller, as only 2 sides in 20 are 1s, etc).

Players can also spend Grace before a roll to +1 their result, removing the possibility of rolling any 1s at all, or in a pinch spend Grace after the roll to re-roll entirely. This does further mitigate the chance of 1s being too much of a hindrance.

10s are an automatic success because it always counts as a passing number on any roll regardless of difficulty. Expansions such as Pandora Paris (out soon!) will also have some additional abilities that only trigger when a 10 is rolled.

I hope that you enjoy Pandora and that our reply has been helpful. You can always gain additional support and voice suggestions, feedback or pose questions directly to us at

Mathematically it is the same. A 10% chance to auto fail. 2 chances in 20 is 10%. 3 chances in 30 is 10%. etc... But that math is flawed too. If you roll 2 dice on a 10 sided dice your chance of getting any single number is 20 % or 1 in 5.

VERY TRUE - just spent come time checking it properly. But the Grace still nulls it pretty heavily.

Your chance of rolling a 1 are (1 - (0.9 raised to the power of the number of dice)).

So, rounded off you have:

1 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 1) => 10%
2 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 2) => 19%
3 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 3) => 27%
4 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 4) => 35%
5 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 5) => 41%
6 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 6) => 47%
7 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 7) => 52%
8 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 8) => 57%
9 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 9) => 61%
10 dice = 1 - (0.9 ** 10) => 65%

Original electronic
Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
