Firefly Echoes of War: Bucking the Tiger

Watermarked PDF

Out in the black, a friend who pays back what they owe is as rare as a fresh strawberry. The Crew arrives on Renao just in time to witness the life drain out of Annie Foys body before she could settle up her debt. Sheriff Leonard Cao suspects the murderer is taking part in a high-stakes game of cards at the Shenandoah Rush casino and needs the Crews help to crack the case. Was it Sharklip Shen, the Triad gangster who controls the casino? Was Big Cassie Sagira, the Companion with a secret, responsible? Butch Guying, a known killer and Browncoat raider? Or perhaps Annie ran afoul of the mysterious Alliance officer known only as The Colonel?

Bucking The Tiger is part of the ECHOES OF WAR roleplaying adventure series, which is centered on a common theme: the Unification War. ECHOES OF WAR adventures include basic rules to get you started employing the Cortex Plus game system. Main characters are found in Serenity Crew, which is available separately. For the ability to create custom characters, please check out the FIREFLY ROLE-PLAYING GAME core book. All releases in the ECHOES OF WAR line are compatible with the FIREFLY ROLE-PLAYING GAME, which is based on the television series by Joss Whedon.

You will need Serenity Crew, the Gen Con Exclusive, or the Firefly Role-Playing Game to play Echoes of War adventures. Serenity Crew is best suited for standalone play, while the Firefly Role-Playing Gameis best suited for series play.

Just so I don't rebuy something. Am I right in thinking this episode isn't in any of the print books? I looked through them but didn't see it.

I've read the adventure and it is excellent. It might be the best introductory-style scenario written in the past five years, possibly tying with the Pathfinder Beginner Box. If you are interested, check out this podcast where they discuss the adventure. You can find it on iTunes (Episode 9) here:

Absolutely seconded. I'm about to pick up this adventure because of this podcast, and I picked up the core book a while back partly because of their review. Sounds wonderful. Everyone listen to Plot Points! :-D

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
