[%] is a role-playing system designed to find a balance between narrative freedom, mechanical balance, and ease-of-use. With simple, intuitive core mechanics backed up with loads of options, this light-weight system puts story first while still allowing for balanced protagonists and legitimate threats and obstacles.

  • Intuitive, percentage-based core mechanic that applies to all actions means you'll never have to look up special case rules and can stay focused on what matters: the story.
  • Flexible, trait-based character creation allows players to create any protagonist they can imagine.
  • "Special Effects" system allows for players to suspend or bend the rules, alter the outcome of their actions, and take control of the story.
  • Wide variety of option rules allow you to customize the system to perfectly fit your game.

It REALLY needs a more objective connection between Traits and Chance...

Rating a game at 2 stars when you clearly like it but don't like the price is *not* cool. A review like that against a product with no other reviews is going to have a major impact! People won't even get passed the name because the game's rating is low. Now, folks that would have disregarded the price tag and found a good game will be turned away.

Maybe -- then again, don't focus on why the product is good to fix the problem. Actually pull the price down a little to fix the problem. I think that is really the point, isn't it? Besides -- it is just my opinion. If others think the way you do, then let them spend the money and determine for themselves if it was worth it or not. The bottom line to doing business: make the customer happy, and he will return later for more business. Common sense, don't you think?

Well, the game is now Pay-What-You-Want, so I hope anyone who was turned away by the price will give it a shot.

I'm also intrigued by this one but feel $10 for 28 pages is a bit steep. Any chance of a Christmas sale?

While I stand by the product's value, I understand why people might not be willing to throw down an entire $10 on an unknown creator. So, for the next two weeks, I'll be putting [%] on sale for $5.00.

I agree. The price point is way too high. ...should be around $3.00 US if you want to make any sales.

It really looks like a system I could enjoy, but €7.23 for 28 pages is a bit too steep a price. What makes it any different from the hundreds of cheaper or even free games you can find out there?

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
