The Adventures Dark and DeepBestiary contains Over 900 monsters in one book, including well over a hundred brand-new monsters, with tons of illustrations.

Need we say more?

The Adventures Dark and DeepBestiary is the third core rulebook for the Adventures Dark and Deep™ game, an expansion and revision of the original 1st Edition rules that defined the role-playing hobby for a decade. Based on the original plans for expanding the game, Adventures Dark and Deep™ gives you new character classes like the jester, savant, mystic, and mountebank; new spells; a new combat system; new monsters; rules for weather and natural hazards; new magic items, and tons more. And it's all compatible with most old-school games, so you can use it with all your old and new adventures, settings, and supplements.

If you liked 1st Edition, you'll love Adventures Dark and Deep™.

Your preview doesn't include a single monster entry!?!?!?!? C'mon guys.

The full-size preview has complete entries for Aerians, Al-Miraj, Anhkeg, and most of the Animated Furniture entry. Not sure what more you were looking for?

My apologies; I couldn't get the full size preview to work previously.

The current print version does not appear to be the current version. It is one page shorter than the pdf and the reference from deep goliath entry to the underground goliath says error bookmark not defined whereas the current pdf gives the page number. With the cost paid for a print copy, this is very disappointing

The author contacted me within a day and is fixing the version used in print. Add great service to a great product.

Where are the random encounter tables? The GM's toolkit says they are in this book? Kinda hard to run a game without a by name list of monsters or tables to tell what's available to use in the game.

The random encounter tables have been moved to a separate, forthcoming, product. The reference in the GMT will be removed with the next update. Thanks for pointing it out!

I just bought the set, any information on this forthcoming product with the random encounter tables?

The encounter tables have morphed into a combined random wilderness/dungeon generation system with encounter tables. It's still being worked on, but there's no date set yet. But it will come eventually!

Apologies for the project taking so long, but encounter tables are now a thing!

The GMT page indicates that the PDF was last updated on December 15, 2015 prior to your first comment in this thread. So, was the encounter table reference ever removed?

Yes and no. Yes, the references in the GMT have been changed to refer to the Random Terrain and Encounter Tables that were published earlier this year. However, a new pdf of the GMT that includes those changes hasn't yet been uploaded. There are some formatting issues that need to be addressed because of some of the changes that have been incorporated (because of changes in pagination, etc.) before new files can be uploaded.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
