AN AWESOME RAINY DAY PROJECT

In two hours or less, you can turn ordinary aluminum foil, white glue, duct tape, and box cardboard into a solar cooker.

MEET "THE EAGLE"

This cooker is patterned on the world-famous CooKit.  Thousands of CooKits have recently been sent to Haiti.  If you want to buy one ready-made, it will probably cost you $25.  Make one for yourself for a fraction of the cost.

NO MEASURING, NO ENLARGING

Just print out pages 4-14.  Glue them to cardboard, and cover them with foil.  Then duct-tape them together.

A WAY TO INTRODUCE KIDS TO COOKING

Food is placed in an ordinary 3 quart cooking pot with a lid.  This goes inside of a turkey roasting bag with some air for insulation.  A couple hours later-- dinner is served.  WOW!  That crazy gizmo really works...!

* GAME NIGHT BEAN DIP: Toss 1 cup pinto beans into the pot with 4 cups of water. Let stand overnight. Rinse and refill water.  Add in one teaspoon oil, 1 teaspoon dried onion, 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice and 2 bouillon cubes. Cook for 3-4 hours in the Eagle, inside a turkey cooker bag. Mash with a fork or a ricer (potato masher). Serve warm with corn chips, or, store in the fridge and serve cold. Garnish with a dollop of sour cream if you like.

AND IT'S COLLAPSIBLE!

The Eagle folds up into a something roughly the size of a phone book, and can be placed on a shelf.  Take it with you camping to set up on the hood of your car.
