Although often considered to be a modern invention, ascending armor class was actually used in the early '90s in a post apocalyptic RPG based on the world's first role-playing game. At any rate, it's mathematically identical and much quicker than descending armor class.
This contains attack bonus progressions for the four types of character classes in first edition. First, strictly by the book, then... [click here for more] |

Found Folio is a collection of roughly 130 monsters converted from 3rd edition (most notably the in print 3.75 edition) of the world's first fantasy roleplaying game back to 1st edition (and to an extent, original and other old school editions). Volume One consists of monsters you might actually use in a normal game (dungeon or wilderness) since they are all monster I've used in my game. Volume Two... [click here for more] |

Remember when adventures were mostly about going into a dungeon, killing monsters, and grabbing treasure? HS1 The Shrine of Sirona is the first (hopefully) in a line of small modules that focus on the somewhat neglected and usually disdained "hack & slash" style play.
HS1 The Shrine of Sirona details a small (10 room) dungeon shrine that was been invaded and occupied by monsters. It is intended... [click here for more] |

The Forgotten Burial Vaults is an adventure for 7th to 10th level characters directly compatible with most OSR rule sets and easily adaptable to the rest. It is set in a 25 room dungeon complex, and like other modules in the HS series, mostly focuses on monsters (a mix of standard and new ones taken from open sources), not puzzles or traps. Common sense, though, is a must as not every inhabitant... [click here for more] |

Originally called the OSR Warlock*, the OSR Kineticist is a new class for old school versions of the world's most popular fantasy role-playing. It is largely inspired by a third party supplement with some ideas of my own based on the warlock from my favorite fantasy series.

The thief class was added to the game very early on by a player who felt its absence was glaring. It was later picked up and published officially. While there has been much debate about the necessity for this class, it's pretty apparent that the class, as published in any old school edition, was not particularly effective at either thieving, combat, or really, anything but dying frequently.
The OSR... [click here for more] |

The witch is perhaps the most common unofficial character class for the first and original editions of the world's most popular fantasy RPG, with variations appearing in magazines, unauthorizaed supplements, fanzines, and no doubt the house rules of 1000s of games. The Chymist is an adaption of the 3.75 Alchemist to older (OSR) editions of the game. Unlike the traditional old school alchemist, the chymist throws bombs, picks locks and find traps, creates spell-like magical potions called extracts, and oh, transforms into a Mr. Hyde type figure.

The balladeer is a wandering, somewhat rustic, musical do-gooder, able to not just cast magic with his music, but even dispel magic and charm monsters. In practice, it's basically a mash-up of the bard, druid, and cleric.
I've been tinkering it with years, changing this or that. I'm still not 100% satisfied with it, but am tired of fooling with it.

In the early days of the game, the Illusionist was introduced to provide a slightly different take on the magic-user, even before spells had categories (Charm, Illusion, Evocation, etc). Second edition created specialists of each magic type, but did away with the uniqueness of the Illusionist by letting a general mage have access to all spells.
This is an attempt to duplicate the uniqueness of Illusionist,... [click here for more] |

The traditional fantasy world of the world's first (and most popular) fantasy role-playing game is besieged by the supernatural. Undead, necromancers, evil magicians, demons, devils, and more.
