  • Creating Mystery Adventures: Create genuine mysteries in Mythic with this approach that serves as an overlay to standard Mythic play, guiding your Adventure through a path requiring you to uncover Clues and Suspects to solve a Mystery.
  • Use Mythic To Learn A New RPG: Tips and suggestions on how to combine Mythic with an RPG you are unfamiliar with, to use Fate Questions to help you learn the game as you play it.

Are the layers set up correctly in the PDF? I can't access them in this PDF yet I can in the GME2 PDF.

The way I did layers in GME 2e was new for me, I don't think I set up Compilation #1 like that. I plan to make everything, going forward, with the same layer setup as in GME 2e.

That's ok but you mentioned it in the flowchart section "The page numbers and graphic bars at the top and bottom of each page will remain, but you can turn them off if you’d like for cleaner printing. To turn them off in the pdf, look to the left side of the pdf page and look for “Layers”. Click that, and you should see a layer titled “Folio”. De-select that to turn the folios off. ".

I'm sorry, I should have removed that section from the article. Since the Compilations collect the contents of the individual issues they sometimes carry over bits that are applicable to the specific issue. Mythic Magazine #4, where "Mythic & Crafter Flowcharts" comes from, has the layers option. I'll see about adding layers to the Compilation so that works.

It's not a big deal, just thought it was odd that it was mentioned in the text then didn't actually work. There are more important things to do... print version of GME2. Aren't your fans so demanding ;)

Hi Tana, I really like the compilation for my solo play. Any plans/timeline to do the compilation of the next 6-12 issues? Thanks for bringing rpg back to my life.

Love the book (hard back), any chance of a hardback compilation of the GME, variations and crafter books?

I'm glad you like it! :) There is a chance of having compilations of more of the books. However, before I do a collection of any of the core books I want to get Mythic 2nd Edition out first. Once that's done, I'll have to evaluate how to handle any possible compilation books, but I'd like to do more.

How far off is Compilation II? I already own the first 7 issues, but would like to just get a soft cover of the next compilation when that's out. I'll pick it up for I as well even though I already have the pdfs.

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for the question. I'm in the process of ordering proofing copies of the print version of Compilation 1. Next up is putting together Compilation 2, which I'll do while I wait for the proof copies to come in. I expect the pdf of Compilation 2 to appear some time in February. The POD version will likely be about 2 months later.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
