Sickest Witch

Selected Option:

Card Game for 1-6 players. All you need to play Sickest Witch is one 20-sided die and one 4-sided die per player (co-op). You can also use 6-sided dice instead of four-sided (there's rules for that alt version). Instructions and how to play videos are available in the Preview or Rulebook link above.

The print + play PDF has everything you need to play and includes all the cards from both Sickest Witch and Sickest Wizard.

The Witches of Black Branch harvest body parts from their victims and imbue them with magic powers. You and your coven are on the hunt. Sever hands and pluck out eyes—collect the most trophies and become the Sickest Witch.

HOW TO PLAY VIDEO ALSO BELOW (as well as a review).

"Creates wonderful moments..." and "I think you're going to like it a lot." UNDEAD VIKING

In Sickest Witch, you and your friends will isolate enemies and take turns attacking until you can harvest a body part. Hands, hearts, livers -- witches imbue them with magic to make themselves more powerful. Although a group of witches attack the same target, it's the witch that strikes the killing blow that gets to harvest a body part and imbue it with powerful magic. The witch with the most body parts (spells) wins.

  • 1-6 players.
  • Competitive.
  • 15-60 minutes. You control the length of the game during setup.

This is a casual RPG-like game that you can take anywhere. By controlling the number of enemy cards, you can dictate how short or long your game needs to be. The rules are simple. Even if you aren't familiar with RPGs, you will pick it up in minutes.

Replayability is unquestionably high. Though this is a simple game, the tension and fun relies on the nearly limitless variables of the spell cards and dice rolls. No game will ever be the same.

Competitive yet somehow collaborative. All players are attacking the same target and no players die. It's just the best (and sometimes luckiest) Witch that wins. It's a feel good game of endless slaughter.

One great thing about Sickest Witch is that it is very easy to wrap up mid-game and pick up where you left off. Just place the witch cards with the body parts they've harvested, stack them on the enemy deck, and you're good to go.

What Makes Sickest Witch Different?

  • Even when it's not your turn, you are an active player. You will be looking for certain dice rolls to upgrade your abilities or re-roll spells.
  • Nothing is wasted. Each card is double-sided, adding layers of gameplay.
  • Fast paced tension. As players advance and kill more enemies, your abilities scale to the escalating tempo of the game.
  • Portable. Take this game with you anywhere. Leave the box safe at home and take it on vacation or to a convention.

69 cards include 52 enemies with 52 spells (on the reverse side), 7 Witch cards, 7 special ability cards, 1 single player ability card, and an enemy Hit Point tracker card.

"Sickest Witch is picked up quick, is loaded with dice rolling action, strategy, and a stinging flavor of wickedness. It's a fun co-op encounter adventure until it's not, then you parse out pain to your teammates in order to claim glory. It's a fast and fun must-play."

Is this game worth buying for solo play only?

Yes, but I'm the creator so I'm probably a little biased. There are unbiased reviews on Board Game Geek and I think one of them praises the solo mode. It's a tense and weird game for sure. :) There are also play through videos on our website - SeveredBooks.com

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
