Yes, still working on that book. Kickstarter backers will receive it first. We hope the PDF will be ready next month and then we'll work on the printed versions and POD.

Can someone please inform me if this book is only useful if you play 5th edition DnD or if it can be used as resource for other RPGs as well?

We think it's pretty useful for any fantasy RPG. You can take a look at the preview as well and see what you think.

A great book. However, I am missing the caster level of most of the monsters. For example the The Queen of Darkness can cast fire bolt at will - but at what level? This is missing at all the monsters which can make it a bit confusing regarding power level.

Some monsters can have innate spellcasting. For those monsters there is no level, the spells are considered to be a regular spell unless a specific level is noted next to the spell in the stat block. So the Queen of Darkness gets a basic fire bolt, however you're free to boost that if you want.

Great content, fey seem to have gotten no official love from wizards. Makes a fey intrigue game concept possible without a mountain of work. But small technical details are missing from the pdf. No linking at all in the PDF. Background on every page makes it very expensive to print.

I did not realize the pdf uses bookmarks instead of clickable links.

Terrific book. Great illustrations and short, smart color text. Would buy more in this series for sure, regardless of system (though I prefer and am happy with 5e).

This is a great book! My only regret is I ordered the pdf/softcover a couple of weeks ago, not knowing a hardcover was going to be available.

Thanks. For those that are interested, two pictures were not visible when I viewed the PDF using the Mac Preview default viewer. When I opened it in Adobe, it was fine. BTW, I received my hardcover book as well. Fabulous!!!

Is there any way to fix this? I can't always use Adobe, which means I can't see the images in my PDF.

From the goblinoid 'haters' who detest anything creative yet have bardic spells at their disposal, to the dream dragon whose breath weapon creates hallucinatory terrain, this book is exceptional. Highly original, full of beautiful illustrations and packed with ready-to-play monsters that are perfectly balanced. I always highlight to my players when they have vanquished (or not) one of Andrew's monsters and every time they tell me how much fun it was to pit their wits against something more interesting than owlbears and goblins. This book is a must for any DM.

I've been a fan of Cawood Publishing's work for a while now and this is their best book yet! The artwork from Travis Hanson is phenomenal along the depth of content that suits all tiers of play for your next encounter with the fey. A highly recommended supplement to any DM who wants to bring faeries and their legends into their game. You have plenty of legendary fey figures and archfey to truly bring the tension and fear to your party.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
