Tekumel is perhaps the most fully-realized world in all of fantastic literature or gaming. A truly American fantasy subcreation, and probably the first non-white and non-Western roleplaying setting, it evokes elements of South-East Asian and Native American culture and belongs to the science fantasy tradition of Edgar Rice Burroughs, Clark Ashton Smith and Jack Vance and yet is entirely original.
