Faserip It seems to be complaining that the rules for a superhero RPG can't be used for non-superhero games, which makes no sense. If that's not what the reviewer is saying then it's entirely unclear.

Orc Hospital (Card Game)

Orc Hospital (Card Game) This seems like an appropriate time to write a review of this game. Why? Because the "Pop" channel is running a "ER" marathon later this month, and the only thing better than that would be running a "Orc Hospital" Marathon at my house. The cards ordered via drivethru are good, playing quality cards, and solid art. I recommend the box too, but suit yourself. This game plays well as you improve tongue in cheek stories about the Orc Hospital it's staff and patients. The professed object of the game is to acquire enough points to win the coveted "Golden Goblin award" but for us that quickly became lost in the satisfaction of telling a good story. That probably defines why I gave this five stars, in that telling a good story trumps card play, and I love a good parody. This card game is great for kids, who can grasp simple boyfriend, girlfriend, and dating relationships. The rounds play fast, through the deck once and done. Some things we did that added value to the game, was...

Forget Me Not: Florida, GMZero RPG 6

Forget Me Not: Florida, GMZero RPG 6 I am surprised no one else has left a review, I leave it to others to contradict me. I played FMN-Florida Edition recently at the RadCon Sci-F & Fantasy Convention in Pasco WA, and loved it. Yeah, five stars, loved it, here is why. If any of these aspects appeal to you, you can gauge how many stars you might give it. 1) It is adult oriented... let’s say PG13, in a market that generally believes "game" = 8 to adult. 2) It is funny and dark at the same time. Very "Twin Peaks" wacky, in a small Florida town. 3) It is a story telling game with enough structure to balance play without choking an individual’s creativity. 4) By playing multiple characters, you have no avatar in the game to anchor your ego to... anything can happen, tables turn quickly. 5) There is nice art for every character in the game, with prompts for quotes. 6) Easy to learn mechanics, fast set up, defined end after an established number of scenes. 7) We had so much fun and laughed so much that other people...

Star Confrontations

Star Confrontations This game seems to be a slimmed down take on the combination of WH40K and a few "what if..." ideas. The mechanics are fairly simple and the rules are only 3 pages long. The game also comes with all of the pieces you need to print-cut-glue-play in probably less than an hour. The one main thing that I didn't care much for about the game was that the figures are not fold flats, but I am not sure if they were made to be A-frame models, or fold-flats. But for the small amount of money that you pay for this title, the figs are decent enough to use as is....

Universal Adventures Dungeon Deck THIS and all the other sets of cards in this line, are a GREAT resource. I have been using TSR's CARD MASTER since 1993; and this line is an EXCELLENT replacement. I especially love the work put in to make actual objectives in the Modules a little further down the line.

Ships of Plunder

Ships of Plunder This PDF, running a hefty 55 pages in length, provides descriptions of more than forty ships, along with their notable crew members and the cargo that they carry. It seems like an excellent supplement for a pirate-themed campaign in which the heroes run into various ships at sea, saving a lot of work for the GM. While it's still necessary to write up stats, this provides a place from which to start, and is perfect for a game such as Pirates of the Spanish Main.

Maze Rats

Maze Rats I am incredibly jealous of what Ben Milton has managed to do. I've been searching for my ideal RPG rules for decades, and never found anything that hit the right balance. I've tried every retroclone and microclone you know, and while they all did some things fantastic and most everything else great, they are generally too restrictive and bogged down in minutea for my tastes. I've been searching so desperately for a good "0e" style system, trying and failing to write three of my own, that I was just plain frustrated with the whole industry. But upon finding Maze Rats, I immediately knew it was something special that just does everything so well. Don't let the short length deceive you. The first time you read through a short paragraph explaining a concept, you might think it's nothing special. But the more I use these rules the more brilliant I discover their simplicity to be. This is not just a stripped-down set of rules; each sentence is very carefully crafted and each rule and even...

Fantasy Races As Types (Cypher System)
por Alvin L.

Fecha en que fue añadido: 03/18/17 10:14:52
Fantasy Races As Types (Cypher System) I'm not a huge fan of this content. I'm lazy so I was hoping someone created a system of races which I could just plug into a Fantasy Cypher system and use. Instead, this book reinvents the wheel and that's just way too much customization for me. The very 1st 2 sentences of the book are: When using this supplement, players choose a Racial Type (from this document) for their characters. in place of a Type (from the Cypher System Rulebook). They still choose their Descriptor and Focus normally. I wish I had known this ahead of time. So no Type (classes) at all, Forget speakers, Adepts etc, you're leveling as a Dwarf or Elf or etc gaining abilities at each tier as a Race. It's essentially D&D 1st edition in Cypher. Don't get me wrong, some people might like this but for me it's just crazy backwards. I have not bothered to check if it's balanced because I know I will never use this system. On top of that, Magic is revamped. Since all the Types (Classes) were ...
