Hundred Devils Night Parade: Doppleganger and Mata-Yadh (Demon)

Hundred Devils Night Parade: Doppleganger and Mata-Yadh (Demon) The two beasties provided in this booklet are simply not worth the money. The Ghost's dice pools are quite high for its purpose, and the Behemoth will probably destroy your average PC Circle of Solars. The Ghost is an easy fix; the Behemoth has interlocking mechanics that make fixing it a tear-down job. While I'm all for tweaking material to suit a group's needs, these diverge significantly from the material and tone with the rest of the game, and I don't think it was worth the money. I can find plenty of great ideas on the internet for free and then pour hours into the mechanics....

Tri-Stat dX: Core System Role-Playing Game

Tri-Stat dX: Core System Role-Playing Game I have to admit, the Tri-Stat dX system is probably one of the most complete, modularized, and modifiable generic RPGs available, since GURPS. The rules aren't difficult to pick up and there is as much meat as you need to sate your hunger - be it for high fantasy, gritty cyberpunk, soaring heavy hitting superheroics, kingly subterfuge or virtually any manga or anime setting. At the low introductory cost of free, there is no reason for you *not* to own it. Try it. I couldn't find anything wrong with the sytem, except yhat it's too bad Guardians of Order is not around anymore....

Coriolis - The Third Horizon core book

Coriolis - The Third Horizon core book I've been looking for a solid SciFi RPG since Alternity came out. This is what I was looking for. Solid simple mechanics, easy character/ship creation, and rules that make sense. The fluff is fantastic but created a Halo mod which has worked seamlessly (only took a few hours to do as well). I highly recommend this book for any SciFi enthusiast.

DDAL05-11 Forgotten Traditions (5e) This is a very difficult module to do in 4 hours, especially with a group that tries to learn as much as it can with the lore of the giants. I am always a tad fearful when I run a module with a group that doesnt understand that death is a very real possibility. The final boss is a cool mechanic, that can easily wipe the party if they are not smart. The traps can be "save or die" for low levels. I enjoy running this adventure, it shows that death is a real thing in 5e, but if your party is not adult enough to understand that, perhaps you should look to a different module...

DDEX2-10 Cloaks and Shadows (5e) One of my favorite modules. Murder Mystery, with an aspect of Assassin's Creed in the City of Danger. Has a lot of room for roleplay, combat, and shenanigans.

DDAL05-06 Beneath the Fetid Chelimber (5e) This adventurers is meant to be run with the adventure DDAL05-07 Chelimber's Descent, as the hooks simply lead the adventure to the tower located on the island. If run separately players will just slog through (what appears to be pointless) combats as well as having to make ability checks to not get lost and fight through more encounters. If you however are will to run through both at the same time players will the opportunity to explore a abandoned tower but as a stand-alone module new players will likely be disappointed....

DDAL05-02 The Black Road (5e) Great introductory adventure with equals amounts combat, social interaction, and exploration. Highly recommened for new players as it pretty much offers something for most types of D&D players as players are tasked to deliver as statue of the Goddess Mielikki to Parnast.

DDAL05-16 Parnast Under Siege (5e) This adventure, as the culmination of the tier 1 SKT adventures, is designed to be meant to be run as a convention module. The constant use of ability checks in order to accomplish various tasks can be quite tedious but is required due to the complexity of the module. Note that this module is quite difficult and if you're not running it with a full table/multiple tables will unfortunately require the aid of NPCs to help them as the final confrontation (with 4 5-6 CR opponents plus mooks) will be too much to handle if they fail the preparation checks required to buff the towns defenses....

Hellfrost City Book 4: Cities of Royalty

Hellfrost City Book 4: Cities of Royalty Helps to flesh out these two cities. Not 100% necessary to run sessions in these cities, but it allows a GM to give them a more individual character and does contain some information that can be used to generate adventures. More focused on information than adventure seeds.

DDAL05-10 Giant Diplomacy (5e) Another SKT tier 1 adventure that encourages social exploration rather than combat, as well as a puzzle. Note that DMs running this will want to have some background info on the Feywild in order to give a accurate description of the setting/NPCs involved, as well as in order to flesh out information on the Fey.

DDAL05-12 Bad Business in Parnast (5e) Nice SKT adventure that involves exploration of the town of Parnast. Recommended if your group likes Exploration and Social Encounters since this module is combat-lite. With that said keep in mind unless your group only cares about combat this module will take more than 2 hours as they will most likely visit the town.

Dark Dungeons I went looking to buy a used copy of the Rules Cyclopedia and found the price prohibitive. A little reading online sent me to check a few retro-clones, and this one seems to be the nearest thing to the original. It has some minor modifications, which for the most part are improvements or errata corrections. I ended up also getting a print copy from Lulu and it is very reasonably priced - not sure if it is print on demand from this site. If you are looking for some retro D&D style play this is a great all in one rule book, well worth the cost. Digital copy was perfectly clear....

Hearts and Harlots So first off, this is pretty much an update of the old Jenny's Guild web supplement from first edition, pertaining to the Vendel League, both authored by Andrew Peregrine. And while it doesn't get into the sordid details of the Jenny's Guild, it does cover quite a bit of the Guild's history and how the Guild operates as a business entity. It certainly does provide a bit more detail on what the life of a Hero with the Jenny Background might have been like, especially depending on which Nation they originated from, such as what particular fashion trend they might have employed during the course of their "work," to say nothing of citing what roles men and children would have within the Guild, with it being made very clear that children are kept as far away from "the work" as humanly possible. It also discusses how the Jenny's Guild represents itself in each Nation, with Vodacce pretty much outlawing it due to the Guild's ties to the Vendal League, to how in Castille the patrons are mor...

Asian Bloodlines

Hinzugefügt am: 05/26/2017 10:47:00
Asian Bloodlines DISCLAIMER: This review is based on a free PDF provided by the author and the publisher, which in no way had an influence on the final score. Asian Bloodlines is a book in Legendary Game’s Far East product line. It is a very focused book, containing only bloodlines for the Sorcerer and Bloodrager classes (and maybe some feats, archetypes and other 3PP classes). As always with LG products, it has amazing art and handy electronic features that really show the production values. What’s inside? 18 pages of pure crunchy content (plus 3 amazing full-art pages) for x bucks, which include: -9 Bloodrager Bloodlines, presented with a nice, fluffy introductory paragraph, followed by bonus feats, bonus spells, and bloodline powers. Imperial Dragon is special, since it borrows heavily from the normal draconic bloodline. It includes specific changes, especially with the Forest Dragon Bloodline. Like “vanilla” draconic, these are very flavorful and will be popular among many tables (who ...
