Book of Knights & Ladies
von Gabriel L.
Verlag: Nocturnal

Book of Knights & Ladies This book adds a lot of options to the character creation for KAP 5.X, which makes it a must-buy for whoever wants to play as knights that aren't Cymric. Since it will almost only be used during character creation, I recommend buying the PDF rather than the hardcover.

Icar A solid far-future SF RPG! Humans live in a galactic arm that has for the most part been taken over by Droids, descended from automatons of the humans' own creation. The Droids almost extinguished the humans but are now preoccupied with in-fighting. The game mechanic is smooth and ready, but the main thing is the exotic details about the Droids and the far-future human civilization. Illustrations cleanly support this vision with ample descriptions of settlements, megacities, vehicles and gear. There are 2 game supplements so far....

Venture City • A Superpunk Sourcebook for Fate Core Since my friends and I love to run supers, and we've been using FATE since we discovered it, this was a godsend! Easily quantified powers, we had to do so little work on the boring stuff (crunch) so we could get to quickly telling dramatic stories about our favorite supers-ours!

Dragon and the Thief Used this in our game last night to introduce a new NPC character that will be joining the party for a bit. While playing, everyone shared backstories and what they were planning on doing next and had the opportunity to "interview" the character in a very casual setting. The players loved the "game within the game" and it was quick to learn and quick to play. We did require everyone putting in an ante (1gp) into the hoard to make it a little more valuable if you happen to roll 12 early on. Sure your group will enjoy!...

vs. Ghosts Adventure: The Witch of New Hope

vs. Ghosts Adventure: The Witch of New Hope This is a fun adventure for the vs. Ghosts game. A note to anyone getting started with the game. I'd use the adventure Ghost of Pendergrass first, and put the town of New Hope near the old Pendergrass logging village. After the players complete Ghost of Pendergrass, the parks committee can begin cleaning it, and expanding it as a living history tourist destination. This expansion could be the lead into Ghost of New Hope. Just my two cents.

Trail of Cthulhu: Many Fires

Verlag: Pelgrane Press

Trail of Cthulhu: Many Fires This is an unabashed Pulp-style adventure set in northern Mexico, with plenty of adventure and action, evil cults and wielders of magic to keep everyone on their toes. Basically, the Investigators are asked to accompany an ageing General Pershing to Mexico to finish what the Mexico Punative Expedition of 1916 began, dealing with rebels... but of course there's a bit more to it than that. Pre-generated characters, with backstories that weave them into the plot, are provided and their use is recommended unless you want to run this as part of a larger campaign with existing Investigators. If you are doing that, some hooks to help you get them involved with the trip are provided. There's plenty of background on Mexico and the people involved available for Investigators to discover through the usual channels before they go - and a big section of Secret Background for the Keeper's eyes only: the lowdown on what is really going on... and what Pershing is really up to. The adventure itse...

Mysteries of the Gods (5E) An Endzeitgeist.com review This expansion pdf for the cleric-class clocks in at 10 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 8 pages of content, so let's take a look! After a brief introduction to the subject matter at hand, we start off with the Blood Domain...and at one glance, we can see that the spells in the domain's list are not italicized, in a pretty obvious formatting hiccup. However, wait for a second - the spells themselves make sense, so how do the features fare? Well, at 1st level, you gain proficiency in all simple and martial weapons that deal slashing or piercing damage and when you fall below 1/2 maximum hit points, you receive temporary hit points equal to twice your cleric level, but only once per short-rest-interval. If your current hit points are below half of the maximum, you gain temporary hit points of the same amount when rolling initiative...which could be interpreted in two ways: One, it is an additional effect or two, this counts towards...

Bloodragers of Porphyra

Bloodragers of Porphyra An Endzeitgeist.com review This installment of Purple Duck Games' "...of Porphyra"-series clocks in at 32 pages, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 3 pages of SRD, leaving us with 27 pages of content, though you should be aware that the pdf is formatted for A5-booklet-size (6'' by9'') and thus allows you to fit up to 4 of these pages on a given sheet of A4-paper. All right, let's begin with the new archetypes contained here, the first of which would be the Beast Brother, who gains his 1st level bloodline power at 4th level, the 4th level bloodline power at 8th level, the 8th level bloodline power at 12th level, the 12th level bloodline power at 15th level and at 20th level, he gains the 16th level bloodline power. To make up for this delayed progression, the bloodrager receives an animal companion at full druid level progression. The animal companion receives the bloodline powers when the beat brother is raging, while the beast brother gains access to any one of the special ...

Village Backdrop: Black Wyvern (SNE) An Endzeitgeist.com review This installment of RSP's Village Backdrop-series is 11 pages long, 1 page front cover, 2 pages of advertisement, 1 page editorial/ToC, 1 page SRD and 1 page back cover, leaving us with 5 pages of content, so let's take a look at the settlement! So, Black Wyvern would be the final village in the vicinity of the town backdrop Deksport, situated on the relatively lawless Picaroon Peninsula. And guess what? It was founded by a pirate captain and named after his ship. Did not see that one coming, right? Sarcasm aside, the village actually does have a somewhat unique angle: The base premise of the village would be evil colonialist pirates displacing similarly evil local goblinoids and orcs...but it turns out that the pirates inherited more than they could chew: An ancient moon oak, gnarled, withered and used to execute countless folk, has gained sentience and now looms over this place an arboreal overlord that controls access to the woods...and to an exten...

Men & Monsters of the Aegean (BASH Fantasy)
von Todd T.
Verlag: Skirmisher Publishing
Hinzugefügt am: 03/16/2017 20:09:25
Men & Monsters of the Aegean (BASH Fantasy) This book is DENSE and well-worth the money. Not only is there fully-detailed information (game stats, physical description, weapons, magic, variants, etc.) of the 40+ monsters and creatures, there are also fleshed-out adventure hooks included, as well as encounter tables based on the characters' location. This can be a great aid to the Narrator. The artwork style runs from Ancient to Medieval to Classical to Modern to photographs, with vignette and full-page images throughout. The body text is easy to read for the most part, but there are a few distracting typos in there. A couple of pages are black with reverse type; those are rather difficult to read. Some images have captions overlaying the art that are small and hard to read. The only drawback I can think of is the size of the file (45 MB). There needs to be a low-res version of the PDF; the full-page art tends to overload my iPad and crashes it, and it also runs slowly on my computer. Maybe a better optimaization of the art...

101 Starcrews I am doing this review principally to warn potential buyers - if you already own Traveller Supplement 13 - Starport Encounters, do NOT spend your money on this product. This material is lifted (verbatim, from what I could tell) directly from that Supplement. The material is good, but it is NOT new.
