This is an opportunity missed. This could have been a book of mathematical stories about balancing, mixing, and trimming mechanics told by leading designers. Instead, the contributors repeatedly tell us to make fun, pretty, and easy to understand games. Anyone who pays attention to what gamers are saying, already knows more than what's in this book. It's shallow and fluffed with the designers' attempts at wit. It's a collection of egos and advertisements.
