This PDF presents a very large dungeon with no encounters or information on the inhabitants. The map does contain traps, secret doors, portculis stairs, crawlways, a grid, and identifies the rooms by number.

This is a wonderful product for anyone looking for a map to populate before sending their unsuspecting players into the depths, but does not have the time or the inclination to create the map themselves. Using a PDF in this way, in order to take advantage of the tools, is very interesting.

The Rule Your Dungeon feature is brilliant. They nearly got it exactly right. As you know from reading the publisher?s description, certain things have independent ?switches? in this feature. However, some included items require a switch of their very own. Otherwise, there are difficult choices to make, such as the fact that turning off furniture takes away doors and stairs. It would also be useful if they provided, in addition to the ?change all? feature, a ?player version? feature that removed all secret doors, traps, and other information that should not be revealed to players. That would simplify using the product for any dungeon master that wants to take the dungeon as is.

You should note that the final four images on this products main page are a view of the entire map with different options turned on or off. So, for example, the fourth map has everything ?off? so that nothing more than the outline of the dungeon appears. Also, note that the first and second map (upper left and right) have the color of the main dungeon as yellow (certain areas use different colors to identify them), while the third map (lower left) has the color of the main dungeon as white. There are many more variations to select from that will not have nearly as dramatic a visual effect as displayed by those four images. However, the impact will be evident from the way they are used in game play.

Other than that, it is an interesting and large map that could get see action in lots of campaigns.

To rousing gaming and ample rewards, I. Perez

LIKED:
