Eldritch Role Playing is a really good system. I bought the first version from Goodman games and then backed the kickstarter for the second edition and even played with Dan Cross on Roll20. It is difficult to write a reveiw though. There is a long and exhaustive reveiw posted which reading could lead to the belief it is a complicated system that requires some work to learn and play. It isn't and you don't. It is beyond my skill to describe simply though and you may not believe it but all you need to play is one person to read the rules enough to have a grasp of them and then start playing. Whatever you want to do there is a die or dice that a character rolls on the character sheet and the GM only has to decide how hard the task is to know what dice to roll to set a target number. The very broad base abilities make it easy to figure out what you are rolling against and as specializations and masteries narrow the scope of the base ability it is easy to know when to apply them. Spellcasting is a little more involved only because there is no real world comparision to give you a starting point. Combat runs quickly enough and as every attack reduces your defenses (usually) it keeps the pack of kobolds or giant rats relevant anytime you run into them.

I appologize this doesn't cover much of the printed work but trying to do that makes the game seem way harder than it is. You can create any character you can imagine and it is not a chore to run. Twice I have run it for two different groups when I and one other person where the only ones who knew the system and everyone was involved and having fun inside of 10 minutes from starting.
