Being shipwrecked or marooned anywhere would easily lead to a sense of monotony, and this track tries to instill that sense of monotony through repetition, especially of the percussion beats. However, I got more the sense of a long, dreary march through the desert than of being marooned in outer space. The rhythms feel tribal or aboriginal to me, and some of the instrumentation reminded me of the didgeridoo, making me think more of Australia than Antares. There’s nothing in this track that leads me to envision outer space, though the piece would certainly be appropriate to a kind of “Robinson Crusoe on Mars.” Actually, the lack of a “space” feel is an advantage, because it makes the track more flexible than the title might imply. As with all of the Fishwife Games/Dave Woodrum compositions to date, the ID3 tags are populated sub-optimally. Even though this track is a good “buy” at free, I’d still consider it more of a “why not?” than a “must have.”
