This pdf is 16 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page editorial, 5 pages SRD and 1 page counters with the monster-artworks, leaving 8 pages of content for the monsters, so let's check them out, shall we?
The first monster we are introduced to, is the Asherake (CR 4), a race of humanoid, winged tigers that come with a rather neat artwork and the ability to grapple foes and drop them down.
The next creature is the weird Kahrn (CR 7) and their CR 2 larvae. These beasts feed on combat with other species and can heal you with their bite. No, that's not a typo. Interesting creature, though some extensive ecology would have made the beast interesting.
The CR 8 Sapphire Jewel Golem comes with the ability to skewer its foes with sapphire needles and extensive information on construction.
Next up is a total classic - the ogrillon (CR 1/3) makes a triumphant return, including a kick-ass artwork, a new feat and complete racial traits to build ogrillon-characters. This also includes a sample ogrillon pit slave.
The final creature is the reaper falcon (CR 2), a hunter with augmented criticals and the ability to deliver bleeding strikes via their wing bones. This monster write-up also includes stats for using them as animal companions.
Editing and formatting are top-notch, I didn't notice any glitches. layout adheres to the 2-column standard and the pdf comes with bookmarks. The monster-artworks by Michael Scotta rock HARD and are not something I would expect at this very low price point. They even manage to make the Asherakes (which I personally consider bland and stupid) look cool. Which brings me to the content: I would have loved to see some kind of cooler extraordinary ability for the Asherakes and, while I do appreciate the idea of the Kahrn, I don't really get warm with the creature, but that's a personal preference and won't fracture into the verdict. The sapphire golems and ogrillons rock as befitting of iconic critters and I can see the usefulness of the reaper falcons. When compared to the second installment, I was not that impressed by the creatures or the support of additional rules for them, though. In the end, for the VERY low price, you still get some nice critters and if what you read intrigued you, check out this pdf. My final verdict will be 3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 for the purpose of this platform.
