To begin with, the rules contained within this product are optional. Optional. They may not be for everyone, but again they are optional.
As a longtime Shadowrun player, and a fan of adepts I really enjoyed this product. Additional focus given to the various Ways that an adept can follow is nice, as is the mechanical discount on power point costs, available for following a Way. The new powers range from meh to very cool.
Overall a very nice addition to the game, and hopefully the start of some nice OPTIONAL rules that allow GMs and players to add more depth flexibililty to the game.
