A wonderful introductory supplement.

Characters: Any permutation of the characters given should be able to navigate the scenario, and while the characters are complete in themselves, they also leave enough room for a player to make it their own.

Setting: The spooky old Cranston house can fit in any setting, so you can easily drop it in to an existing game, or use it as a foundation for beginning a new campaign.

GM Tools: As part of the casefile, the GM also receives a set of questions that helps place the players in the mindset of their characters as well as firmly setting the state. I wanted to highlight that the structure of these questions served to inspire me for this campaign, as well as several others.

Solid work from the Hat!

This was a great introductory module to Dresden Files RPG. Fully half of it is the player characters -- which aren't quite complete. That's a good thing, as it allows the players to express some creativity and feedback when they play. The rest of the module is a scenario, with one way to work it out -- we quickly got off track of that, but the information there gave me the support to move it however was needed. Just enough to let me run, and then it got out of the way.

The players really picked up the theme and ran with it, so that worked well too. All in all, we had a great time with it!

Another great FREE product from Evil Hat that anyone looking to run a one-shot of the Dresden Files RPG, or just for some inspiration and guidance for their own campaign, will find indispensable.

As always, a classy product from the guys at Evil Hat. I actually feel this is a better introduction to the game than their previous one-shot.

Night Fears, from Evil Hat for the Dresden Files RPG is a fantastic addition to the game. There are a bunch of reasons for this. First, its free. Second, its designed as a one shot. That can be tough to pull off in a Dresden/Fate style game, since there is so much personal involvement usually in creating Fate characters. Third, its just a quality scenario.

Production Values: A Top notch artwork, layout, and styling, worthy of a paid product.

PreGen Characters: A The pregens leave some details out, which in this case is a GOOD thing. The players will fill in and customize parts of the characters to make the game their own, which is really the essence of playing a FATE game. There is a good skeleton in place for each PC though to provide a great starting point.

The Scenario: A Teenagers spend the night in a haunted house on a dare. The whole kit & kaboodle is perfect for a one shot or convention game. The laid out story is interesting, and there's just the right amount of crunch and rules interaction for an introduction to the system. Advice for the GM to help along the way is liberally sprinkled throughout.

Overall: A+ People pay happily pay good money for content that isn't half the quality of this. I'd also recommend checking out their other free casefile: Neutral Grounds.
