100 Folks Of The Old West
Publisher: Fishwife Games

Exactly what it says on the cover. This product is a list of 100 names followed by a short description of each. The names are numbered 1-100 so you could come up with a random group very easily. The list contains a pretty varied group of individuals, not just gunfighters and outlaws, but also bartenders, land owners, and guitar players. This will defiantly be used in my games.

Modern d20 Core Kit

It is hard to argue with free. Not only does this have a very playable version of d20 modern here, but i feel like they went a bit above and beyond by including some fairly good art and the layout is favorable.

however, the lack of an equipment section is a major drawback, and others have pointed out, their is no combat section either. I remember how to play d20 games fairly well, but others may not be so lucky.

Adventure Idea Factory

I really like this product.

It is meant to help in those times when you really need an idea for a game, and nothing is coming to you. This should help you get your creative juices flowing. You roll to get a location for your adventure, flesh it out a little, and then figure out what the characters are going to be doing there.

It is pretty straight forward and should be able to help you in a pinch. It is geared towards Science fiction games, with spaceships and moons serving as the items you are presented with but there is no reason you couldn't work it to fit whatever setting you are playing in. That being said, there is a lot of text here that describes stuff and a GM running a space opera style game could surly benefit from it.

the bad part is, sadly, it doesn't do all the work for you. This is meant to give you a solid frame for your adventure that you can then go back and fill in the blanks on. Having used things like this in the past, i know that sometimes that just isn't going to be enough. Still this handles it better than a lot of adventure generators I've seen. Very little artwork, but what art there is, is pretty high quality.

Dresden Files RPG Casefile: Neutral Grounds
Publisher: Evil Hat Productions, LLC

This is a really high quality book. The adventure is laid out nice and there is a lot of room for the GM and players to make changes as needed for their game. I am not the biggest fan of Fate out there, but this was still a very fun read.

The book gives you partially premade characters to start with and the players can then fill in the black spots as they wish. there are some really good questions that it suggests the GM ask as a way of helping the players get to know the characters. again, a nice touch.

Don't want to give too much away about the story. But its a good one.

Ships of the Black Desert: Conestoga Rover

I really like this book. It gives you a lot more than a stat block for a ship. If gives you the history of this ship, information about life on the ship, and the things you are likely to find there. Its these kinds of touches that help make setting come to life and make a product more than a list of numbers.

A calender with naked girls in it. The art isn't bad and the calender has a lot of holidays from a lot of different religions in it as well as some pop culture stuff. If you want a calender with naked girls, this one is a nice one.

21 tracks of good creepy music. it is good music that really sets a tone without getting in the way, and there is enough variety that it doesn't feel like you are listening to one song for 45 minutes. There are pretty strong melodies and i actually hum along with some of these tracks without thinking about it.

The Big House

A pretty good book for running a prison set in a world of super heroes. It tells you just about everything you would need to know about a prison equipped to hold super powered criminals. The layout is nice and there is a lot of information here.

The fact that this book can be used with any system is nice, the book gives you guidelines as to the relative power of the characters and items within so you can port in the appropriate stats for what ever system you are running. Nice touch.

I was impressed with the art in the book overall. there wasn't a whole lot of it and it was mostly in black and white but it was still rather nice. the map of the prison could have been better, but that is just nit picking.

This is humor by gamers for gamers. This book is almost too much, as I find humor like this is better in small doses such as in web comics. There is just so much information here that it is a bit off putting. This isn’t a book you will want to pick up for a quick laugh, yet there is no other reason to pick it up. But, if you are familiar with gaming humor at all, you will laugh. I found myself actually laughing out loud at some of the jokes, smirking at others, and giving a knowing nod the rest of the time.
