I have a soft spot for all things piratical, and also remembered Glorantha fondly from years ago, so snapped this up when the opportunity presented itself. It is a supplement, as the write up states at the bottom, and doesn't stand alone. It does do a good job of translating the "Golden Age of Piracy" to RuneQuest's rules set, but focuses to a large extent on the Spanish Main, the Caribbean, and the "real" world at the end of the 17th / beginning of the 18th century. I was slightly disappointed it didn't do more to integrate pirate characters into the Glorantha setting - as it is, this only gets about one page of discussion toward the end of the book. But, if a semi-historical campaign all its own is your thing, this book is great. Excellent rules for ship building, customization, operation, and, of course, piratical attacks. Good additions to character generation to flesh out buccaneers and privateers, and to give them appropriate skills, abilities, and vices. If you're already a RuneQuest player and want to indulge your inner Jack Sparrow, this book won't disappoint, but be ready to seriously consider doing so completely separate from whatever campaign you're running currently...
