Excellent product - perfect balance between playability and complexity / "realism" for those of us who like to track # of cartridges fired and determine LOS. Nice to not have to adapt rules from elsewhereanymore - looking forward to some crossover scenarios, and maybe figuring out some Mech / Maschinen Krieger house rules

I'll also add (belatedly) that White Star: Galaxy Edition uses the same game engine and already has rules for Mechas so you might check that out first before you try to reinvent the wheel. Thanks again!

Excellent work - personally I'm a big fan of rules interoperability and what this does in allowing S&W as well as White Star crossovers is awesome. Strikes right balance between realism and playability. The Pearl Harbor adventure (separate) is great - looking forward to the rumored "PacificTheater"supplement

RuneQuest Pirates
Publisher: Mongoose
by Arkham D. [Verified Purchaser]

I have a soft spot for all things piratical, and also remembered Glorantha fondly from years ago, so snapped this up when the opportunity presented itself. It is a supplement, as the write up states at the bottom, and doesn't stand alone. It does do a good job of translating the "Golden Age of Piracy" to RuneQuest's rules set, but focuses to a large extent on the Spanish Main, the Caribbean, and the "real" world at the end of the 17th / beginning of the 18th century. I was slightly disappointed it didn't do more to integrate pirate characters into the Glorantha setting - as it is, this only gets about one page of discussion toward the end of the book. But, if a semi-historical campaign all its own is your thing, this book is great. Excellent rules for ship building, customization, operation, and, of course, piratical attacks. Good additions to character generation to flesh out buccaneers and privateers, and to give them appropriate skills, abilities, and vices. If you're already a RuneQuest player and want to indulge your inner Jack Sparrow, this book won't disappoint, but be ready to seriously consider doing so completely separate from whatever campaign you're running currently...

BIG Book - lot's of detail - the ship building section is awesome... Different than D&D - takes a little getting used to... Not "historical" - the game world parallels 17th century colonialism and piracy, but the world itself is it's own "thing"... Overall, I like it quite a bit...

Interesting take on monsters / demons in the modern / future world. Lot's of material to "flesh" out a campaign (no pun intended when it comes to the "Tark")... Some editorial issues in the rules (repetition of the same description in close poximity, etc), but overall good. Would have liked to have seen more pictures in the rules, but that's a personal preference...

I may have been introduced to D&D first, but Traveller's always been my favorite system - SciFi wins out over Fantasy for me... Traveller is an awesome game, and a PDF copy of the base rules rocks - I keep it on my smartphone for a quick "fix" when I need one... Great stuff...

Very Nice! Used to do a LOT of paper modelling, back before the wonder of inkjet printers and I just used a pencil and some posterboard. I'm very pleased to see the quality of Avalon's models. Look forward to taking a look at more of them...
