I'm a big fan of Wild Talents, so you'll find only my happy bias in this review. Now the truth is that I tend to favor very rules-lite type games. I'm a Supercrew/Risus kind of gamer, mostly. But when I get an itch for a game with a little crunch, a game where the dice matter and where you can have fun really designing (or is that min-maxing?) a character, I turn to Wild Talents.
Wild Talents is a crazy, gritty supers game that kind of defines its own wonderful niche. Oh sure, you could use it play marvel/DC stuff, but honestly, Mutants & Masterminds and BASH do that pretty well already. But WT is amazing at creating "real worlds" where normal people are blessed - or cursed - with amazing powers. And the powers are the core of this game - you can design very strange and whacky powers, and I find that somehow, WT encourages me to make my characters an their abilities more interesting.
I'll give this 4/5 stars. It's not for everyone, but it's a thing of real beauty.
