0one's Blueprints: Caverns of Chaos
Publisher: 0one Games
by Mark S. [Verified Purchaser]

You're getting exactly what you see here. Caverns of Chaos is a very fun tribute to the classic D&D module. You get large scale section maps that can be pieced together to form a single map. Or, you can work from a smaller overview map.

Two bucks is what it costs you to be able to plunk down this classic dungeon crawl tonight. Sprinkle with monsters and you've got a game. Caverns of Chaos is another example of what gamers love about 0one games.

0one's Blueprints: Dragon Ship
Publisher: 0one Games
by Mark S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 07/26/2010 16:20:46

Liked: Another good product from 0one Games...the most useful products in the e-book RPG market. The Dragon Ship is a fine product...even if the context was not gaming, but a report or school project on viking vessels. Gamers get great products for cheap prices from 0one. Plunk this PDF down whenever you need a vessel from the Dark Ages. A rating of four stars reflects the value of this product for a GM.

Did Not Like: Two flaws keep me from giving this product five stars. First, there is no grid for standard game mapping. That means that details like ribs and planks are fully visible, but not the grid that makes gaming on this map possible. Printed to fit on an 8.5x11" page, this ship is not scaled for either tabletop miniatures or dungeon grid-style use. My other concern is that the "Rule the Dungeon" feature on this product falls short. I cannot remove the details like ship ribs, planks, shields on the side, oars and other small details. Ships of this type did not always use oars and the shields were only for display in port. These are cool details, but they get in the way of actual game play. I am looking forward to an enhanced version of this PDF which will be fully controlable.

The guys at 0one are doing a great job overall. Please update this file and give us more ships!

Merchants and Mariners : The Royal Wolf
Publisher: Fool's Moon Entertainment Inc.
by Mark S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 07/24/2010 00:38:23

I am giving this product three stars because I only paid 75 cents for it. What you get is a description of the ship and a "battle map" of a ship, drawn out in hexes. Yes, hexes. Not squares. Hexes. The picture of the ship does not suck. The information about the ship itself is somewhat interesting. I would describe this product as a "lazy pdf" because the publishers did not even bother to give it a cover. The picture of the ship you see here looks like a cover...but it isn't. This picture only appears in the listing for the item. It appears in the pdf as a very small item. Gamers who want to use this "battle map" with miniatures might want to know that the map is not large...it is a small map with small hexes. You cannot print it out and plunk it down for tonight's game. Given the effort that goes into making a pdf product, one wonders why publishers do not bother to do them right...not even including the most basic features. At 75 cents, you get what you paid for. Buyer beware.

Watch out! The description of this product just says that the "Merchants and Mariners line continues" with this product. There is no mention of a battle map...and for a good reason: THERE IS NO MAP. Without a map...even one drawn on hexes like the other products in this series, this pdf is not worth even the 75 cents I paid for it. This product is a waste of your time to download it.

Tomb of the Frost Kings
Publisher: Kenzer & Company
by Mark S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 07/03/2010 16:36:36

Tomb of the Frost Kings is easily worth the entry price of $2.99. You get a well-written adventure with plenty of creatures to kill - all of whom really have it coming. The maps, by Craig Zipse, are professional quality line drawings...and they aren't unusable color maps slugged into black and white that we so usually encounter. Jeff Nitzburg has a command of the English language that is so often lacking in many similar electronic products. One quirk of this product is that the cover picture implies an adventure in a tower...but the tower does not figure in the text. In fact, only the first level of the tower appears in the adventure, with the adventure leading down below the tower instead of up. There isn't even a stairway leading up. One gets the idea that the tower drawing was added later to give the adventure an impressive graphic. Even so, the simple maps of the upper floors could be added by any GM worth his dice. I am happy with my purchase and I believe you will not regret purchasing Tomb of the Frost Kings.

0one's Blueprints: The Great City, Lairs
Publisher: 0one Games
by Mark S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 07/03/2010 16:26:15

Great City Lairs stands out because it is an unusually high value. The 0one Blueprints are all give you lots of gaming for little cash, but the Great City Lairs file is larger than your average blueprint. Unlike other 0one Blueprint files...which are usually about eight pages long, this file is a hefty 37 page product.

The maps are keyed to the Great City setting, but there is no reason you cannot use them anywhere...particularly when the Rule the Dungeon feature allows you to remove the text from the maps.

I am very happy with my purchase, and you will find that you cannot go wrong at this price. If you are a fan at all of the 0one Blueprints line, this product is completely worth your time at a cost/value ratio that is unmatched. I recommend it without reservation.

Free...and worth the price.

If you read the description, you would have realized this was ONE of several maps available in the full version. The B/W map for this version does show the possibilities of the other maps with a color window.

I loved The Pirate Island. For under $2 I got a very useful fantasy location that I plugged right into my ongoing campaign.

The Pirate Island is another example of the consistent quality offered by 0one Games. Just about every one of their Blueprints line is a bargain. These pdf publications don't need background information...the maps themselves immediately suggest storylines.

My advice: Buy it.

Towers of Adventure Wizard's Tower

There's nothing here. The great map described is four circles on a piece of graph paper with a couple pages of text.

Things I liked: I think the cover looks interesting and it certainly promises something.

Things I Disliked: The absence of a Wizard's Tower described on the cover.

This should have been a free product, guys.

The Lazy GM: Savage Creatures
Publisher: Creative Conclave
by Mark S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 02/21/2009 19:51:24

Creative Conclave has put together a string of some of the most useful products for the OGL system. If you are a gamemaster who intends to stick around and play D&D 3.5 for a while longer, you would do extremely well to latch on to all this company's products.

DMing 3.5 is a difficult enough task without constantly having to work up advanced monsters and templates. The Lazy GM series is the perfect power tool for any DM who needs muscular, interesting or just plain different monsters.

The only negative thing I have to say about this awesome load of thunderbolts for any DM is...I wish there were more of them. For instance, where is a case of dynamite in the form of the giant class monsters? We want more!

Seriously....totally worth plunking your DM money down for this set of very nice time savers.

0one's Blueprints: The Great City, The Saltshacks

Date Added: 06/27/2008 16:08:18

Very nice work by 0one. Great City, The Saltshacks is another example of 0one giving us a high quality product that can actually be used.

First, I like the ships and boats drawn up to the docks. We can never get enough maps and diagrams of ships.

Second, The Shaltshacks includes so many other nice features, such as a unique tavern location and other cool stuff.

One other really good facet of this product is that it does not have to be used only with The Great City. It can easily be used as a docks scene for any fantasy city, with virtually no problems involving conversion or game logic.

0one is the leader in online pdf game supplements. No other company has come even close in useability and bargain price. Thanks again, Oone!

(Aid) SRD 3.5 Revised (Full) Bundle
Publisher: Creative Mountain Games
by Mark S. [Verified Purchaser]
Date Added: 05/24/2008 15:44:03

Ok...wow. This has to be the single most useful pdf I have ever purchased.

Those who check over my past reviews will notice that I tend to be hard on publications that do not deliver what they promise. This one delivers.

GMing the 3.5 game is a difficult task. The GM must be on top of his game and there are a million rules to remember. Monster statistics read like character sheets and they are hard to transpose with pen or pencil. There are hundreds of pages of spells, charts, rules etc.

This bundle cuts right through all that difficulty. The rules are right here, on computer, and they can be printed out in whole or part at will. Hooray!

I got this bundle for the incredible half-price deal of $9.98. Had I known how good it was, I would have paid full price much earlier.

Not all pdf files are create equal. Anyone who has used pdf files knows that a lot of them work only with huge delays. They also frequently lack navigation tools or other features friendly to the computer gamer. The files in this bundle cut across most of those problems. Not only are these excellent pdf's, they are cross-referenced and they avoid most of the clunky printing and ink-wasting problems of lesser pdf efforts.

Even if you can get the SRD information online, you still need to buy this bundle. A GM with these tools in his hands has just saved himself many many hours of clunking through the rulebooks or clunking through the online rules for the things he needs.

This bundle is worthwhile if all it included was the monster stats file. I can print out monsters on ink-friendly formats. Most of the monster stats even FIT ON ONE PAGE!

I am giving this Creative Mountain bundle the maximum score and I totally recommend it to anyone who knows how hard it is to ref the modern game.
