This comment is about the bundle package 1-5.

This product is simply a regurgitation of the Mecha rules from D20 Future. It is workable however, but requires you to put some time and effort into it. I would recommend it undergo a review and be reissued. I would even volunteer to help with the revision.

It completely ignores the feat armor proficiency power armor that is in the core D20 future rules.

I cannot manage to get the free power core supplement no matter how hard I try. Without it, you feel a little incomplete but just ignore powercores altogether if you can't get it. email me at pszopa@yahoo . com for more info.

LIKED: Plenty of variability in armors. Nice art. A great attempt at filling the power armor hole in D20 future.

DISLIKED: Needs a revision. Too similar to mecha rules. It ignores the fundamental feat, armor proficiency power armor. I can't get the free power core supplement.

QUALITY: Disappointing

VALUE: Disappointed
The first product in the Polymecha line, Weapons of Power Armor Destruction expands the mecha rules from d20 Future with rules for creating smaller sized suits of power armor.

The basics are the same as those for larger mecha. Select a small, medium or large size frame. The differences between the three are relatively small: a jump in hit points from one size category to the next, and large suits have double the equipment slots of small suits. Reach and fighting space are the same for all three suits.

After selecting the size of the suit, the next step is to choose the material the superstructure is manufactured from. In addition to selecting the base material, there are four options which allow you to make small changes to its statistics. Some superstructure materials may also be added as external armor, which is the next step in the process.

The next sections feature the different types of equipment you can outfit your shiny new armor with. These are broken down into flight systems, sensor systems, defense systems, weapon systems and miscellaneous equipment. Many of these systems require one or more slots of space, and some are restricted to certain locations.

Following the equipment sections are rules for power armor movement and combat. These rules are followed by a number of feats, and finish with the Power Armor Pilot advanced class.

This system is simple to learn and use, free from the intense number crunching often found in mecha-related supplements. In addition to all the statistics needed to assemble the suit from prefab parts, each section opens with information on the relevant craft rolls for scratch building your own systems.

The simplicity of the system also works against it. Because of the way the slot system works, it can be difficult to recreate more complex suits such as the Iron Man armor; which packs a whole lot of systems into a little frame.

LIKED: Plenty of options for putting together smaller types of mecha, for those days you want to be able to walk around without smashing apartment buildings with your feet.

Landscape oriented for easy screen viewing.

DISLIKED: The three frame sizes seem rather bland, with nothing to really make one stand out from the others.

This version doesn't seem particularly printer friendly, and the color used for the headers and table backgrounds rendered on my screen as a particularly unpleasant green.

In addition, this product is plagued by tecnhical errors ranging from missing or misspelled words, grammar errors and mistakes such as the inverted numbers in the Prototype listing.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
WoPAD is a nice fill for the gap left by the WotC D20 Future book. A gap that is a very interesting & popular sub-genre of Sci-Fi gaming. Bravo.

LIKED: WoPAD uses the same effecient & easy to use layout as all Polymecha products.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Weapons of Power Armor Destruction is a 19-page PDF devoted to something that will please Iron Man fans everywhere - power armor. Designed for use with the d20 Future rules, Weapons presents a simple and direct menu approach to creating power armor. Power armor comes in one of three sizes - small, medium and large. Each size of armor has different characteristics, including hit points, base speed, height and number of equipment slots. Once you pick the base armor size, you add superstructure, armor, and equipment like flight systems, sensor systems, defense systems and weapons. Each of the systms take up one or more of the armor's slots.

In addition to the rules for armor creation, Weapons includes information about power armor movement and combat, critical hits, new power armor related feats and even a new advanced class, the power armor pilot. The writing is clear and the rules look like a good complement for d20 Future. The layout is professional and the cover is an attractive comic-book style color illustration. The layout is in Louis Porter's landscape format, which makes it easy to read on the screen.

If you are looking to add power armor to your d20 Future campaign, Weapons of Power Armor Destruction is for you. And if you pick it up and like it, Louis Porter has released two follow-ups (Weapons of Power Armor Destruction 2 & 3) that give you even more options.

LIKED: The rules are clear and concise. This is a useful addition to the d20 Future rules if you need power armor in your campaign.

DISLIKED: The landscape format is great for viewing on the computer screen, but in my opinion, not so great for printing.

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Now, I will admit, this review is a little bit biased, as I'm a fan of power armor in general, but, curiously, don't much care for mechs.

This book was excellent. It took the d20 future mecha rules and scaled them down to a size usable by the average infantyman, rather than mech jockeys. Plenty of options, cool ideas, etc for PL 6, 7 and 8. Better yet, it's very professionally done, and it seems nicely balanced, too.

LIKED: The layout and typefacing. Very clean and easy to reference

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
