The Midderlands is a folklore written by goblins, extensively detailed by their human thrall ["the Glynn" as in: "Make the Glynn taste it first, brother."] with maps, illustrations, a bestiary full of horrible pseudo-medieval freaks, and pertinent descriptions of all the required data necessary to run a campaign there. Situated in a Britain-That-Never-Was, in a region saturated by an eldritch Green quality. Here be notes of Lovecraftian power. Glynn's monster profiles resemble the evocative weirdos of Clark Ashton Smith and are worth the purchase of the book alone. This is an expanding setting with further resources already here at OBS or on the horizon. [5/5]

Don't Buy If: You don't like a little whimsy in your Weird or happen to be haunted by memories of goblin-perpetrated enthrallment.

A system-neutral-ish monster-book that hides a wealth of monstrous eye candy behind its blah title. This 54-deep array is the work of Nicholas Cloister, who brings the triple threat of author-artist-designer like some Jaquaysian upstart. Each illo is in gorgeous, moody color like the cover beastie seen below. I say "system-neutral-ish" because Cloister offers stats in his own D&D analog patois that are easily interpreted by any referee worth his salt. The monsters encompass a wide variety of functions and purposes and could easily populate a continent-worth of hexes. Exemplary work.

GHOSTS offers a complete paradigm of incorporeal undeadness for any D&D-ish style rules set. There are completely statted ghost types, discussion of how mortals interface with the sidereal world, and a good number of new spells to enrich your game's ghostly experiences. Makes Van Richten's guide look pale and patchy in comparison. Highly Recommended.
