Dust, Fog, and Glowing Embers is a delightfully different Role Playing Game! The system can be tricky for those used to a more traditional style of RPG... but even my hardcore Dungeon Delving table got the hang of it within a night.
Basically: Your rolls determine who has more narrative control: The Players or the GameMaster. This mechanic makes GameMastering a breeze as you do not need to prepare Difficulty Numbers ahead of time.... and it is vastly rewarding as the core mechanic keeps everyone on their toes, ready to add their own flair to an event!
Side Note: I am shamelessly working on using these rules for a Bioshock inspired one-shot game for my group!
