Excellent book. I don't run Champions/Hero system, but I do use elements of the Champions Universe in my game. This book is incredibly useful to any Superhero GM.
The first seven chapters outline seven classic superhero scenarios - The Bank Robbery, The Prelude to Alien Invasion, The Super-Drug, The Fire, The Mad Scientist, The Shrunken Superheros and the Super-Wedding. These are mostly generic discussions of different approaches and ideas. Each category has a list of 10 unusual variations on the scenario, a fully fleshed out capsule adventure and a random-scenario generator (which is always useful for getting past creative blocks)
Chapter Eight is a goldmine of scenario seeds - twenty pages full of them. Some of these make references to characters or organisations in the Champions Universe, but they're all easily adapted to any setting.
The layout and artwork is the usual Hero standard - very clear, functional B&W. Very easy to read either on screen or printed.

LIKED: The artwork is some of the best I've seen in a Champions book, and some of the funniest. It's all appropriate to the scenario ideas being discussed. Look out for the Teen Champions and "Defender and Defender Jnr" pics!

DISLIKED: The price. Hero Games PDFS are among the most expensive on here, and while they may be worth it in terms of quality and what you get for your money, it makes buying them a tougher decision. Plus if this had been a few dollars cheaper, I'd now be thinking about buying the hardcopy version as well.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Ripped Off
