For $1 its hard to beat this. This series of music is good for background music. Try one and give it a test.

As a musician, I was disappointed with this one. I could do better in a couple of hours with Cakewalk and my own keyboard. The off-rhythm elements seem random and haphazard. It really doesn't inspire me at all except maybe to take a nap. I would purchase the D&D soundtrack or download the Diablo 2 soundtrack for free before purchasing more of this line.

People into ultra-ambient tracks might like it - as long as you're not actually listening to the music at all.

First off, everyone is certainly entitled to thier own perspective. However, I do find it out of context you use your comment as way to glorify your own talents just short of leaving a web link. It also appears the majority posters enjoy the music, are you saying they have no taste? I create music for people to enjoy, not musicians to critique. I don't create my brand of experimental music to be accepted by my "peers". I certainly wouldn't go around leaving coments on other artists products that I could do better with Painter, Photoshop or traditional mediums. Especially advertising others products as an alternative. Here you create more of an insult to yourself as you apparently show no respect for a fellow musician (been playing and recording off and for over 10 years) and seek to lift yourself and put me down.

More dismal than the other Dragon's Gate tracks, this one is still great as background music. Has a feeling of mystery like the other Dragon's Gate songs, but has an undertone of fear too.

I found all of these rather insipid and irritating in use. Since I do often use background music, I can only say these are weak.

Well, certainly everyone has thier perspective on what constitutes good music. In this case the music is designed to be in the background and non confrontational. It might have been more constructive had you gleaned what exactly was not working for you rather than sweeping generalizations. It appears from other reviews most have truly enjoyed them and allowed the music to be what it is, "ambient".

Falling Behind is a good choice for the title of this track as it personifies the term desperation. It starts out quietly and then builds on the sense of brooding doom and failure. This would be a perfect track to use for characters following a cold trail after some atrocity or situations where they are under a strict timeframe with dire consequences for failing.

I own all of the tracks of Dragons Gate to date and they are definately worth your while to purchase if you use music in your gaming sessions.
