There's really not much to say. This is it: THE 2nd Edition book on illithids. And it's so full of information that can be used independent of any game system. It's one of Cordell's best works, and a prominent feature in his own personal continuity amongst (A)D&D books. His own continuity makes his works a joy to read and hunt for clues, and this is a rich feeding ground for just that. And the rules material is brilliant, as always. The only flaw I find when going through this book is the inconsistency of the art, where on one page an illithid might look sinister and alien, while on another it suddenly looks like a cartoonish B-movie monster.

LIKED: Pretty much everything.

DISLIKED: Some of the art

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Very Satisfied
