What's that you say? You don't like westerns? Well listen up sonny, this ain't your grandpappy's western!

Like crawling into a big old hole with a sword and slaying monsters? Wait 'till ya try it with a Winchester.

Want to cast spells? Grab a deck o' cards, Huckster, and start slingin' em.

Like being a cleric? Play one of the Blessed and maybe the Good Lord will smile upon you!

Steampunk more to your taste? Then the life of a Mad Scientists is for you!

Hate rolling up a new character if you old one dies? If your (un)luckly maybe you won't have to!

Want to do somethin' more important then just grabin' loot? Try yer hand at savin' the whole dang world!

Or if you just want to play a good old western game you can ignore all the weird stuff and still play a dang fine game.

So quit readin' this and go buy it!

Outstanding book what else needs to be said. This in combo with the Marshall's handbook gives ya everything you need to fight the critters of the Weird West.

I found this book just in time for a new campaign.

Now this is all we play.

The system is a little hard to get used to but it shure is fun.

all you need is a deck of cards, some pokerchips, and some pizza and <poof> you are in the wild west saloon mixin it up with the locals.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Very Satisfied
I'm 100% satisfied. For me having an Acrobat file is many ways preferable to a bound paper copy.

LIKED: Good game.

QUALITY: Acceptable

VALUE: Satisfied
Possibly one of the best games ever.

I highly recommend this to anyone, and while the system does take a little getting used to, once you're happy with it, you'll see that its one of the fast games going.

Well worth the $5 charge.

You'll need the Marshall's guide to completely run this game, though thats now on RPG.now aswell, so no problems there.

This is an exceptional game setting and game system. Make sure to use the original rule system. The D20 conversion lacks the flavor of the original.

There are so few quality games on the market today and even fewer that deal with the old west. Pinnacle took the genre a step further and added that fantasy element of undead, machines and mayhem to the mix. Deadlands is one of the most solid games produced. Its unique blend of Poker card roleplaying (giving the extra flavor of the wild west saloons and gambling) mixed with horror, comedy and just plain good ole' tale tellin'.

After twenty plus years of pen and paper roleplaying it's great to be part of something fresh and full of wonder like Deadlands. This book gives you what you need to get going and leaves you wanting to know more of how the Weird West was won.

Obviously necessary for the players of Deadlands Revised. Though a bit skimpy in terms of new info (as opposed to that given in the original), the added archetypes are appreciated. Also, the Guide to the Weird West is superior to that in the original (though it does lose the quaint storyline with Coot and co).

Rating: 3 out of 5, translating as a solid C. Background material is excellent, artwork is good. Game play when we first tried it out today was bad. Too many strange game mechanics that have no reason behind them. Bit too geeky as a result. Another surprise was that the Cthulhu ripoff elements really jarred when people were psyched ready for a Wild West adventure. Still a very cool annexe to the standard RPG alternatives.

One note -- this is no longer a free download. So the front page of the download needs to be changed - the PDF still proudly yells FREE PDF etc. on the first page. Oops. :)

Excellent product, as is to be expected from Pinnacle, and the value-added features of the electronic product have cemented my appreciation of this form of publishing. Kudos all around. A+
