I still have a copy of the original from the 90s and I was curious about the second edition. When comparing the second edition to the first, it seems to be more of a reissue than a new edition, but that's not a bad thing. Maybe the full ruleset for 2E will have more changes than the Quick Start, I'm not sure. I still like Bladestorm since the rules are well-designed, it plays quickly, can be used for either large or small games, and you can use whatever miniatures that you have on hand. I would recommend this game.

Great to see Bladestorm coming back to the scene after all these years! I guess the market wasn't ready for such a skirmish in the 90ies. The free Quick-Start Rules are perfect to get the taste of it. And the character calculator makes it easy to handle whatever creature you want to introduce to the game. The best argument for me is that Bladestorm won't force me to buy dozens of expensive minis - I can just use whatever miniatures I want and prefer! Now I'm waiting for the full release to get my Rolemaster dungeon party ready for a skirmish raid.
