The book had some really cool inspiration, but the crunchy bits require so much arbitration to even find a semblance of balance that I wonder why it even included stats. Maybe we just happened to pick the most obtusely broken things from the book? Because even by shadowrun standards, they were utterly absurd. But still, the suggestions for different magic traditions was cool!

Why can i buy the 2nd and 3rd printing sinultaneously but neither includes the errata that are already in Catalyst Games first printing of Street Magic? At least according to their website.

I didn't find it particularly useful, though as usual, it was still a decent read.

The main things I got from it were the Magical Groups and advanced Metamagic, and some of the magical security and countersecurity tactics. I didn't really find the grimoire to be that relevant; there's a few useful spells, and most of them are kinda interesting to read, but a lot of them seem "Fancy, but more expensive and less useful than a standard mana/stun/power bolt.".

Works pretty well. Inspires powergaming, which doesn't work personally for me, and makes radical changes from the theory of magic in SR3. But works well none the less.

Very good product. My players have had a blast trying to figure out where to get/ learn to use (in game) the new stuff thats in the book.

A good addition to the magic rules. The one I am waiting for is the updated net and Otaku rules.
