Yet another gorgeous map from LZW. This is the latest in the Under the Castle series and picks up right where Prison in the Deep left off -- with a mysterious set of huge doors flanked by rune-encrusted columns. The only quirk with this map is that the final 'room' is a three-level vertical chamber, which is presented as three side-by-side rooms. After reading the description carefully and looking closely at the map, you can see how the three relate to each other in three-dimensional space. While initially confusing and possibly a mental roadblock for players, this layout makes for the easiest gameplay and I can't think of a better way to lay out the map.
As usual, the map includes full-size poster views, one-room-per-page views, and isometric visual aides -- which are great for displaying on a monitor when the players are in a particular area of the map to give perspective. Also included are the typical room-by-room descriptions and overall map scenario which are very helpful in understanding the map and a great source of inspiration for encounters.
