(ME1001) - Mithgarthr RPG Core Rulebook
by Thomas W. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 07/21/2017 21:02:40

A great example of taking a great system and making it fit an idea for a world. Using 5E as a basis and taking the level of magic down a notch and starting the characters at lower power brings the low magic, high danger Warhammer style setting to life. From there you gain power over 10 levels per class at a faster rate per level than 5e. The magic system is changed to better fit the level of power in a lower magic world, while still being powerful within the setting and more dangerous to use. When I bought this product I thought it might be good for things to add to my 5e game. Instead I find that I would rather run this game on its own when on a 5e break. That is reason enough to give it 5 stars.

(ME505d) - Theo's Focus

Not bad. I like the simplicity, but it feels a bit like a random dungeon and seems to lack a climax or twist. Still, it's good raw material to add spice to.

(ME503) - The Magic of Chaos
by Martin L. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 05/14/2015 04:42:52

This is really cool. It adds a new magic system (very simple and straightforward, nothing fiddly) to the game that is only available to chaos worshipping monsters. Along with those rules comes a list of spells that seem designed for making combat encounters more interesting. The whole thing is quite cleverly thought up and very flavorful. Though it is tied in with ME's campaign setting, it is general enough that anyone who includes dark chaos forces in their setting (who doesn't?) can use it with no adaption required. Really great stuff

(ME503) - The Magic of Chaos

A very interesting idea for making it so that there can be some variety with enemies in 5th edition. Since 5th edition removed a lot of spell-like abilities from enemies that typically had them in previous editions, a lot of dangerous enemies became simply menacing but not able to back it up in the way my players have come to expect. With this product, I was able to surprise them with a return to old school days when a sudden spell-caster in the midst made a fight last more than five rounds.

It also allows for a far more ominous villain patron when a shaman suddenly loses favor and explodes in front of the party. The trick is whether or not it destroys their equipment, because then it might make the party break down in tears.

(ME001a) The Kingdom of Karak - Map

A nicely drawn map that can be used as intended, for Karak, or modified for use in another setting.
