RPGNOW VENDOR SETUP FEE
by Julie D. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/22/2005 00:00:00

There is a reason this is required for vendor setup, and it has nothing to do with RPGnow making money! You need this download! Easy to understand resource lays out all the facts on the difference between the OGL and d20 licenses. Also included are plenty of templates to keep you legal, so whether you're purchasing illustrations from an artist or just asking a friend to proofread, you'll be able to dot all the "i's" and cross all your "t's".

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Now I can plan ahead and be able to buy those cheap items and not have to wait until I have a large enough order. I'm happy, RPG Now is happy. ePublisher D20/OGL Guide
by slymolf m. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 02/13/2005 00:00:00

This book is one of the most usefull i have ever bought. I have interest in making d20 prodeucts, and found the licence difficult going. This book does indeed not only break this licence down into easy chunks, but explains it in plain english from people who have done exactly that... It points out pitfalls, but also gives usefull insights to interpretations of rules and Open Game Licences in general...

For anyone interested in self-made d20 products, i would say this is your bible.

On top of that, it includes SRD for Standard, Modern, Anime and seperate inclusion for EABA System and the Action! System. The price of the separate SRD's alone im sure covers the price let alone the indespensible advice and thoughts from people who know what they are talking about.

LIKED: Easy to understand, included the SRD's for numerous separately available systems, is full of practical and usefull advice.

DISLIKED: Um...thinks.. not much to not like, if your not into publishing it may have limited use other than SRD's, but then if your not into publishing you'd be looking at games instead.. :)

QUALITY: Excellent

VALUE: Satisfied
A Good idea, and a convenient way to store cash her online..(much more convenient as the process of purchase is a click away. You avoid the minimum fee business etc.

LIKED: Convenience, security and speed of updating the account.

DISLIKED: Not neccessarily a "didnt like", more of a suggestion: The system would feel more flexible with $5 increments aswell as the 10's.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
The reason we choose $10 is cause it will help retain the profits. We are hit with flat fees from every payment that add up to about 13% of a $5 deposit. When we're making only 25% or so and have to pay all our server bills, staff, advertising, etc out of that. There isn't much if any profit in letting people checkout at $5 amounts. That is why we raised the minium checkout to $6.40 recently. Thanks for the support! Do not fear, you'll never loose your deposit/money. It's safe with us, we're not going anywhere!

I have no idea what this person is talking about unless they are having problems with the autorun program. If that happens open the disk with EXPLORER, as all your files are on the root directory. Our disks are automatically created so there is little chance that PDF are missing (though some newer free stuff might be- but never paid stuff).

This product has been altered a few times since I purchased it. There's no function to tell me how many clickthroughs I get from it, which the simplest banner advert anywhere else can give me. I've had exactly zero sales since purchasing this product, so that doesn't bode well as an advertisement; if the advert costs you more than the sales you get from it, it's a waste of money!

I consider it a wasted ten bucks, and it would be an even more wasted twenty bucks. That's also double the usual rate for banner adverts, which run at $1 per 10,000 impressions.

I note that the Message of the Day advert used to be free for Gold Vendors; or rather, not free, but we paid an extra 5% commission for it. Then we paid ten bucks for it. Now the price is twenty bucks.

LIKED: Potentially increases product awareness.

DISLIKED: Overpriced at $20 certainly. Keeps changing.

QUALITY: Disappointing

VALUE: Ripped Off
We are in a learning curve and trying to suit everyones needs. It'll take a couple months to balance things out. We're working on a tracking system. But regardless, things that were free in the past have no barring on this issue/product now. Part of the reason for little sales is that there are too many vendors participating so everyone is getting fewer impressions.

The files are standardly unzipped. If you got a disk with zip files then one of two things happened: 1) you bought so much it wouldn't fit on one disk, or 2) we screwed up and forgot to unzip. For the later we're very sorry about the mix up.
