Kiths of Arcadia
by Ian S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/12/2022 20:55:43

Never really clicked with Changeling the Dreaming, that is until I read this book. Helped me look at changeling a different way, loved the Dragonkin, Imps, Mechorgs particularly. Actually inspired me to purchase Changeling the Dreaming 20th from Indie Press Revolution, C20 Players Guide, C20 Book of Freeholds. So Thank you for helping me reawaken my personal Glamour/Imagination.

Children of the Night - V5 Pre-Gens
by Les M. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/10/2022 23:43:30

The 45 pregens are actually only 15, a single character for each clan. There are 3 versions of these 15 characters at 0, 15, and 35 xp. So characters are not as prolific as it may seem. Then the quality of the characters is questionable. There are characters that only have one dot in the skill used in their Predator type, that have a 3 die hunt pool, or have a blood pool of 2 even though it is the 0 xp version of the character.

The selection and variety alone at $7.50 gives me buyer's remorse. I looked into returning this product 3 minutes after looking through this pdf, but there is no such policy on dtrpg.

$7.50?!?

Another bit of content exploring manifestations of various judges in mummy the curse as antagonist/npcs. Just like the first it is a fairly short document, and We would like to see it explore more in depth, aside from its content to price ratio this is some very competant content for an underrated gameline. 4/5

Judges' Avatars
by DSC T. G. C. .. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/08/2022 12:25:55

Judges Avatars: For a relatively short pdf this opens the floor for new antagonists in mummy the curse. The concepts explored are tantalyzing enough to justify the price/content ratio, especially as mummy is a gameline not often explored. 4/5

Arms of the Chosen: The Fall of Jiara Panoply
by Travis W. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/07/2022 23:47:05

Arms of the Chosen: The Fall of Jiara Panalopy is an excellent addition to Arms of the Chosen. You don't need to have heard a word of the actual play this product ties into as it stands on its own, with the look and feel of an official add-on — which is no surprise with the team that put it together — to Arms of the Chosen. Every storied artifact repleat with well-written evocations ready to be dropped into your game or used as a spring board for your own designs. I particularly enjoyed the Longaeva, which like any good warstrider has enough going on you could frame a whole game around it.

It is a very enlightening book about how we can create our homebrew content so that it feels like it fits the second edition. Very easy to read, and I loved it in every way!

Book of the Wyrm Companion
by Scarlett R. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/03/2022 14:43:57

Great book. Starting with the introduction it instantly grabbed my attention and kept it. The texts and powers are a bit too wordy for my taste but as a whole this book is among my favourite Werewolf the Apocalypse books that came out in the last years (and that includes officially released titles). The tone of the book is hilariously tongue in cheek and very in-line with how I personally think Werewolf's tone perfectly merges horror-camp and cosmic darkness and the book approaches sensitive topics in a sensible and empathetic way which is rarely seen in horror roleplaying. The list of powers, abilities, characters and horrible creatures and beings found in this book is long and rich and I am looking forward to using them in my chronicle.

Soul Fire
by James F. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/03/2022 10:13:08

Absolutely no disrespect meant for the folks who pulled this together. I offer great thanks to those fans who have the skill and will to offer up their creations for the rest of the global community. However, as another reviewer said, "This book is not for everyone." It proved to be very much not a book for yours truly. I regret the meager $9.99 I spent on this; money is tight right now and I should have looked more closely before I leaped.

Part of that is on me, naturally. Different strokes for different folks. Different games at different tables. I get that.

I was pretty enthusiastic about someone picking up where Dark Alliance: Vancouver left off. But...this is kind of not that. This is writtten with an extremely different mood from the original, and goes places that I absolutely did not enjoy.
Let's just say that, whereas I enjoy a far more brooding, shadowy, simmering-rage and angst sort of approach to my WoD books, this one takes some of that, but then buries it beneath raw whimsy and a healthy dose of just plain silliness. Not my bag, but there ya go. I could've done without the Dinosaur-shapechanged-Gangrel, personally. Also; House Hippos? Yup. House Hippos.
I really don't think we needed any more Gangrel bloodlines, but I didn't mind that at all. We all love to showcase our creations, and there's really nothing wrong with a little more variety. I guess. The general vibe of the writing wasn't bad at all, though the stories themselves were, again, simply not to my liking. I didn't really enjoy the direction in which the writer took old characters or plots from the original book. Artistic license, however, will always be a thing and I respect the option of choice if not the specifics of the choices made. The art and layout are mostly ok. No, let me amend that. The layout is very good. Very clean and professional and easy to read. The art is random and stylistically all over the place. It's all, clearly, free art but there's no governing theme. Some pages really feel like they're from a whole different book, if not a whole different game line. Also, there needed to be a proofreader. As someone who has done a fair bit of editing myself, this can't be overstated. Someone other than the writer needs to proof a book before it gets this far. There are so very many typos, misspellings, and grammatical errors. They really mess with folks' enjoyment and reduce the overall value and impact of your finished product.

My final gripe is one that bugged me over and over again as I read this. Dark Alliance: Vancouver had the deal between Vampires and Werewolves. It was called the Vancouver Compact. The writer of Soul Fire, however, calls it Compact once or twice. He then calls it the Covenant, the Covent, the Coven, and I think there might even have been a Convent mentioned in there.
It's the little things, sometimes.

To the writer; I'm so sorry I didn't enjoy your product. I really am. I hope some of my complaints are helpful in some fashion.
I thank you for your contributions to the fandom!

Soul Fire was the work of a single person. These reviews with compliments and complaints are the most difficult because they are the most honest. I expected the theme of the book to strike a cord, unfortunately it wasn't the brutal cost that was the focus of the campaign the book was based on. As for an editor, you make a good point that I simply can't find all the mistakes. If I can scrape together the time and money, I would enjoy revisiting this book to make those changes.

Athens Chronicles I: Titanomachy
by Zachary J. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/01/2022 03:43:40

I'm currently running this Chronicle and my players are loving it! We just completed the first act in book 2 and the author has made it so easy to run. They give you just enough detail to make my job easier as an ST and their background info really helped me flesh out my version of Athens for my players to explore. I don't typically run pre written chronicles but this one is a must have if you want an interesting twist to your standard DA europe.

Book of Totems: The Savage West II
by Benjamin [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/27/2022 03:50:57

I downloaded the first book of totems from this author and used a lot of it in one of my WW:TWW campaigns. This one just adds more of the same and I mean that in the best way possible. If you need some new ideas for your campaign, players, pack, whatever, I'd recommend grabbing this.

Book of the Wyrm Companion
by Luke S. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/25/2022 06:39:51

Clinton Boomer has an incredible talent for writing amazing content about awful people and creations. The resources in this book can equip any storyteller with an enormous array of vile, unspeakable atrocities for use in a World of Darkness game or any equivalent modern setting. Well worth the very reasonable cost for what's included.

Consult your local psychiatrist if the night terrors last for 4 or more continuous days.

Kithbook: Satyrs
by Rebekah T. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/19/2022 09:01:23

Satyrs are probably my favorite kith after reading this book. It places the satyr as the center of passion for the changeling world: passion for romance, art, athletics, poetry, music... they truly live for the heights of human emotion. It's a far cry from the usual description of the forest spirit as nothing but a nymphomaniac with a serious lack of boundaries. The love for this kith from the authors overflows onto the page, infecting the reader with the same passion that fuels the satyr. I especially fell in love with the NPCs provided in this book as well as the descriptions of the satyrs' relationships with the other kith and the description of each of the seemings and the way that the satyr fit in to each one. My one criticism is that I don't think that a lot of the art is especially great, but I still highly recommend this for anyone interested in experiencing a lust for life that is hardly found anywhere in any World of Darkness story.

Kithbook: Selkie
by Rebekah T. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/19/2022 08:47:29

Probably my favorite community made content. I love the connections that this book gives the selkie to Werewolf: The Apocalypse and Mage: The Ascension. It fits so nicely with all of the other information we have of those games that I always use Kithbook: Selkies as canon lore whenever I'm running any WoD game now. I especially recommend it for the information as to what a selkie coat does when it comes into contact with various prodigals, the brand new selkie sorcery, and the prebuilt characters who are all beautifully and tragically perfect for a Changeling game.

I highly recommend this as anyone's first foray into the Kithbooks!

by Clinton B. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 10/18/2022 12:06:25

As a resource for World of Darkness Storytellers - not just Mage STs! - I consider this work a truly essential purchase: the scumbags & lowlifes in this text are near-perfectly constructed for inclusion in almost any Chronicle. Excellent work, 10/10, would buy again in a heartbeat.
