Will there be an Errata for this game? I have a TON of things I feel need to be fixed or addressed, but it's been over a year since the game's release and we haven't gotten anything of the such, let alone new content since November of 2021.

No errata or changes to the rules are planned Armand. LL 2090 is a complete game in one book. If you feel there are lots of areas to be modified however, the text is 99% OGL - you are most welcome to publish your own supplements. Alternatively you might find other cyberpunk games better align with your preferences.

We do hope to publish more adventures in the future, but not in 2023.

Just because it's a "complete book" doesn't mean it can't afford some fixings. There's so many things that're put on the GM to figure out, with some things virtually impossible to make work. Some examples:

- What keeps a character from using a weapon they're not proficient in but firing it in Full Auto? Full Auto doesn't require an attack roll but rather forcing the target to make a saving throw.
- How many bullets are in an ammo capacity of "Belt"?
- For weapons that require a user to have a tripod, how do we purchase a tripod when there's no mention of it
- As the information Korth Billiton Hellfire Rocket, Antonov AA Basilisk Missile, MUS Seadrake Torpedo, and Hawking EMP Vortex Rocket indicate you must have a "shoulder launcher" to fire them, how does one go along buying one?
- Since you can buy multiple vision mods for vision gear, how much is the base price of goggles, glasses and contact lenses?

I honestly don't want to hate...See more

Ok, I'm the fence buying the printed book, hearing it is glue bound and not stitched, and we all know how bad the 5e books where/are for falling apart for no reason at all or coming with no glue or pages everywhere (Tashas), should I be worried? I take great care of my books, but I also want them to last using them as well. Thanks

Yes there's no separate entry because the launcher on p.137 is intended as a mounted accessory to an existing weapon, as opposed to a separate weapon in itself. Adding the launcher imposes a -2 penalty to concealment of the base weapon. Hope that makes sense.

Are the PDF of your systems suitable for printing on lulu? Is just that I had some issue previously with the print on demand service of drivethrurpg.

Hello!
See your LowLife 2090 product. It looks great! And I want to ask: do you think about to make TRPG like LowLife 2090 but classless and with opposed rolls? More complex game system? Attacker roll attack and defender roll defense in melee, for example. I know it would be look like shadowrun or cyberpunk red, but it will be cool, I think.
Thank you to read my comment and sorry for my bad English.

Hi Alex, thanks for your comment :) I think a classless, opposed rolls version would be good fun. It would take a lot longer to make PCs, but once you're up and running, I think sessions would still move quickly.

You could just about do opposed rolls now for attacks; whoever gets the highest number hits. I'm not sure how easy it would be to make the game classless; it would need quite a few tweaks I suspect. But it's certainly doable. I mean at a basic level you could just strip out all the class abilities and lump them into one big list for players to choose from (or even better, roll for? But I love random PC generation!).

Neil there are 5 extremist groups included, one of which is the Church of Luna, which I would say is a cult. Depending on how the GM presents them, Maschine Gestalt, Order of Nine, and CTAC Resistance could be cults too. Hope this helps.

Question: Is it possible to modify Brawler, Gunhand, Infiltrator, Influencer and Vex to gain Imbuements (modified so that they don't require use of class ability resources or have their own limited number of uses) in place of their starting Augmentations and be able to gain more in the same way they'ed gain new cybernetics? Maybe homebrew some imbuements that replicate certain class-specific augmentations?

In my first session of playing of Lowlife 2090, I realized that Full Auto fire has a bit of an oversight: there's no rules that keeps someone unproficient in certain weapons from using Full Auto fire without issue. For example, any character can use a Mendoza Tempest Minigun without issue of unproficiency, as the weapon only fires in fully auto and fully auto doesn't require attack rolls. Sure, it spends extra money, but the fact that a person can achieve rather solid AOE damage without any skill seems like a serious oversight.

I have other things to talk about (since having my first proper session of the game) but I'll hold off until I get some more experience. As is, though, there will be criticisms. One thing I can be said is that Sporting Rifles and Sniper Rifles being in their own categories seems idiotic when there's only one sporting rifle and one sniper rifle available.

Hi Neil, the Ganger entry includes a table of 20 different themed gangs, all of which feature in one or more of the Districts in the Mendoza City setting, and random day and night tables. Eg the Redsack Shankers tend to have have pop out arm blades and are located in Westgate, while the Gozer Vorgs are obese, like to use baseball bats, and are found in Dockers Wedge. There is no separate gang generator tool, but there are several tables for NPC generation.

Similarly the setting comes with 7 megacorporations under the Factions chapter, which are also referred to in various District breakdowns, and are referenced in some random encounter tables. There are no separate random corp generation tables. Hope this assists.

Yes the setting comes with six organised crime syndicates which are described under the Organised Crime section of Factions. Each syndicate has individual stats for foot soldiers and lieutenants, so the Cosa Nostra soldiers and enforcers are different to the Triad's Tongs and Jeijings. Each is also referenced in multiple Districts in Mendoza City, and included in the various District's day/night random encounter tables. Hope that makes sense.

Having read the book a bit more, I found that there's something honestly wrong with the Magic classes: They're weak and not fun to play.

For one, where the other classes get a bunch of cybernetics that can help in their fields and allow for some creative freedom, Exarch and the Mage only get the Sense Magic ability, which is honestly a XXX-poor free ability, as it's very specific and not necessary to have as a free constant ability. This feels more fitting as a spell or an Embument, something you can choose rather than HAVE to have.

The other, where other classes can gain new abilities for free, Exarch and Mage have to pay for their abilities. In the end, saving up money for better equipment is hard as they have to spend money every time they gain a new level, so as to make use of their level ups. Now, they don't have to save up for cybernetics, but it would be nice to build up better weapons and magical items, which ARE pricey in this game.

It just feels like magic users...See more

There are other issues as well.
Magic users are the only folks wherein using their class abilities reduces a core stat. In fact, that core stat is the same one used to occasionally replenish your rerolls, health, damaged stats, and uses of your class abilities. So imagine being a level three mage, and you spend an encounter attempting to do the one thing your character is supposed to be good at. Regardless of whether you succeed, expending all 3 charges of your ability means that you end up reducing your chance of further casting AND any sort of recovery by 15 percent. Now imagine having been reduced to 7 Will as a result. Seeing as failing to cast a spell almost guarantees something bad happening, as well as the spell not going off and you reducing your Will further, spellcasting becomes prohibitively risky and expensive. It's a 65 percent chance to trigger a bad outcome and a 100 percent chance to become progressively worse at the only thing your class is supposed to be good at. A character with a sufficiently...See more

Py it's worth noting Mages have minimum starting Will of 15, and often start higher than that. They can also use their Reroll Pool when casting spells, and the drug Apex for a Will boost. Lost Will points can be recovered during short and long rests. But if this leaves you feeling magic is too dangerous and unreliable, it would be easy to swap in the LFG DDM rules, to give your casters more certainty as you suggest.

Also note that like any character the Mage can rely on their skills and gear to resolve obstacles, and they are proficient in pistols, SMGs and melee weapons. In the default setting of Mendoza City, magical foes and obstacles are intended to be relatively uncommon. I hope this helps.

Armand C August 25, 2021 7:16 am UTC
As you mention how magical foes and obstacles are uncommon, that ultimately renders the Sense Magic ability to be rarely used. In comparison, the other classes get a bunch of free cybernetics, granting them versatility.

Maybe Mages shouldn't have Spellcasting but rather Invocations. These can include Spells, which function the same as the Spellcasting feature in learning spells to cast, but also have a number of alternative Invocations. Sense Magic would work better here and grant a more reliable standard feature in its place. Likewise, making Sense Magic an Imbuement option would work as well and open them up for a better, more versatile base feature.

As is, though, Lowlife 2090's magic users are least fun magic users I've seen in most any Table Top RPGs I've played.

I backed the Kickstarter and overall really like what i see so far. But there is one thin which really bugs me and i am not sure if i get this right.
It's the usage of class talents.
Under Talents it reads that you get one usage of a talent per job per level. Do i understand that right? One. Usage. Of a talent at Level 1 per job/mission/adventure?
So at Level 1 a Hacker can do one hack per adventure. The Mage can cast one spell per adventure.
Seriously? I mean we all play RPGs for fun and doing cool things. That would be Cyberpunk RPG - The Anti-Fun.
Or do i misinterpret this?

Patrick that is kind of correct. A PC "starts an adventure" with a number of uses of their class abilities equal to their level. So, yes, a 1st level Hacker has 1 Hacking use when they begin a job. A 5th level Hacker starts an adventure with 5 uses of Hacking. Very importantly however - PCs can regain uses of expended class abilities by taking short and long rests. So even a first level Hacker can get multiple uses of their Hacking ability over the course a job - they just need rests to regain them.

Note however that Lowlife 2090 is a level based game, and 1st level PCs are intended as "entry level" criminals with limited special abilities, cyberware, etc. After a few levels (especially with bonus +1 use for human), the PCs will seem to have plenty of class ability uses, cyberware abilities, etc. The other thing to bear in mind is PCs can often get by with just their skills, gear, and wits (and, if need be, combat exploits). In many instances Class Abilities are bonus/gravy options....See more

THX for the swift answer!
But compared to LFG the Short Rest is not as powerful. Especially if you have a look at the Hacker who completely looses his reason for being when he has expelled his Talent uses.
And also regarding Cyberpunk missions, often there won't be any time to rest for a hour to regain uses. Also finding a safe space during a mission, resting there for a hour and having the chance to regain just up to two uses AND all of this is just possible after a meaningful combat ... seems overly harsh to me, even for an OSR System. For all classes, but especially for the Hacker.
LFG in comparison is much more forgiving.

Of course this is just a matter of point of view, and of course i can houserule this.

Like i said, i love LFG and i really like LL90. Good job!

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
