Shadowrun: The Neo-Anarchist Streetpedia

ADD TO WISHLIST >

ALL IN!

They’re all here. Everyone of them. The legends, the liars, the betrayers, the winners, the craven, the brave, the powerful, the down-trodden. The people who leaked secrets and got killed for it, and the secrets that no one has discovered yet. The dark bargains, the shady deals, the desperate maneuvers. Everything that makes the Sixth World the high-revving nightmare machine its residents know too well is right here, between these two covers

The Neo-Anarchist Streetpedia is your definitive guide to the Shadowrun universe. With hundreds of entries, it covers corporations, shadowrunners, politicians, nations, cities, criminal organizations, and more. Even better, it gets to the point and tells you what you need to know now, so you can hit the streets a little smarter than you were when you woke up this morning.

The Neo-Anarchist Streetpedia is for use with whatever form of Shadowrun you play. Don’t play Shadowrun? Read this, learn about the Sixth World, and then find a game to dive into!

I have not read this yet but I am going through 6th edition and while it has some problems I am not sure I am on board with all the beef and complaints about Shadowrun in general. It really feels like nitpicking and just being negative is the new norm. I will reserve judgement till I get through this but I am kinda excited. I grew up loving Shadowrun on SNES, played D&D with my friends all my life I was always the kid that owned Shadowrun books but knew id NEVER play as my friends did not like it. So to get a new edition now that we are all mature and will try is cool!

Does this include any Qualities or Gear, or pure fluff?

Think of it as a less concise and more updated version of the free Shadowrun wikia.

I actually enjoy this. It's nice to have something to point out to newer individuals to Shadowrun, and get refreshers for myself.

The only thing I would have liked to see from this was to have indexes attached to entries, which list some of the key source materials they can reference on that subject.

I have been involved with Shadowrun since the beginning. This is by far the laziest thing they have done. So bad. So now we are talking about deep conspiracies like they were household/water cooler talk.

All of the articles on CGL website have just been confirming all of this. 5th edition is just a cash grab. Make everyone buy the basic rule books again. Now they have done this before BUT they always seem to up there game as well every time. Shadowrun has been through 7 editions since 1991(1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 20th Aniv, 5th and now 6th.) How many editions has D&D been through since the 1970's? About the same maybe even less. Its getting tiring.

I love how they are going to simplify the rules. "Sourcebooks need to be below a certain page count." They are not going to charge us less for these books. That's an accountant talking about printing costs. They are trying to simplify the rules but I guarantee they are going to release just as many if not more source books....See more

Agreeing with all you stated, but not only that. They are trying to ride the wave, the fad that is invading all games left and right. Simplify .... simplify ..... simplify, oh, and streamline. Read, dumbing down the system like we have a very low IQ.

Don't know if this will be the "Death" of Shadowrun but I for one will NOT buy into it.

well, I guess as one of those people with a very low IQ. I would actually buy and play shadowrun if it was a much simplifed or streamlined game. But eh, different strokes for different folks.

20th aniv is not a new edition, it's the 4th o_o
i'm just sad that they didn't timed the 20 aniv with the 5 edition

And what wrong with kickstarter rpg ? Mage 20th anniversary is one of my favorite.

What i looked about the new rules seems promising, with the spé.

Yeah....arbitrary complexity does not equate to a good system. Simplification where a system is unnecessarily burdensome is a good thing. Like most things in life, simplification can be done well and properly abstract the complexity, or it can be done poorly and lead to nonsense. Question is, what will the outcome be for Shadowrun.

Agreed on all counts, especially first and last paras - the worst SR3 book I have ever read.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
